Pulling my hair out trying to find one that dh will be happy to be seen out with but is practical too. Any mummy's or daddy's out there that can help...? I know a lot of people will disagree that 'oh you don't needs changing bag' but we do and it's a personal thing so sensible advice please! Smile

An across the body satchel type thing? Like this satchel

DH and I had various bags for different occasions. Rucksacks for day out, oversized handbag for playgroup / shopping, small across the body bag for bag for occasions where you are taking the car and can leave the majority of stuff in there(spare clothes, extra nappies etc.). DOn't feel that one bag has to fit all.

neversleepagain · 13/01/2014 18:43

I used the free Boots one with my twins

Tea1Sugar · 13/01/2014 18:43

I've got a Pink lining yummy mummy one. Obvs very girly but I love love it! I doubt dp will be seen dead with it but there's always the free boots parenting club one for him :)

YoMamma · 13/01/2014 18:46

Pacapod do some nice unisex ones. I have given up on a changing bag now but still use the pods from my pacapod.

rachyconks · 13/01/2014 18:47

My DH pestered me for ages about getting something "unisex". We went for the babymel satchel.

TheFutureSupremeRulersMum · 13/01/2014 18:51

Don't bother spending lots of money on one, just get a rucksack. Much cheaper and easier to use. Change bags are a con.

IHatePopUpTents · 13/01/2014 18:52

Oh! Oh!
Marking place so I can find you the link to my changing bag!!

Viv77 · 13/01/2014 18:53

I looked for ages as I had the same problem and ended up buying this one:-

www.johnlewis.com/bababing-daytripper-deluxe-paternity-satchel-city-black/p231263188?kpid=231263188&s_kenid=49e5808b-d7b9-52a9-6a70-00004af2d6d1&s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73

It's a bit pricey and a bit bigger than what I wanted but I'm happy with how it looks and all the compartments.

IHatePopUpTents · 13/01/2014 18:54

I'm not capable of links! I love it!! It has 3 separate compartments, so one for changes of clothes, the middle one for bottles/ toys/ my crap and another one for changing Mat (a small one comes with it) and nappies/ wipes etc

I love it, and dp likes it too :))

greentshirt · 13/01/2014 18:56

I've just bought a new tote bag (am a handbag fiend so any excuse) and got a changing bag organiser to go inside. We are also getting the boots free one for DH to use when he goes anywhere (rare)

StuckOnARollercoaster · 13/01/2014 18:57

I started off with the freebie boots one until I worked out what was important for me in a changing bag.
I decided I wanted it to be wipe clean leather (mud splashes from pram in rain), easy access but zipped compartment for my phone and purse, big enouth for travelling on plane but not so large I'd fill it with crap and have to lug around too much weight. Then trawled eBay and ended up with something by hennabecca.
So I'd recommend not shelling out straightaway. Make do with the boots freebie or something you already have, give yourself a few months then go shopping!

DontmindifIdo · 13/01/2014 19:01

The skip hop messenger bag comes in plain fabrics so not too girly, however, every bloke I know who made this same fuss about wanting a unisex bag hardly ever carried it! So just get what you want, it's you who'll be lugging this about for 2 years or more. If he really wants a plain one, you could get the free on from boots parenting club as well and that can be his.

AnythingNotEverything · 13/01/2014 19:04

I agree to start with something cheap and then work out what you want once you're using it regularly.

I bought a cheap one www.kiddisave.co.uk/little-lifestyles-city-hobo-shoulder-bag-raspberry.html?gclid=CNbdrb7r-7sCFZLKtAodyxMANw

But after a couple of months found I wanted something else to keep my purse/phone etc in, so I bought a small across body bag for me as well.

Really glad I didn't shell out for an expensive bag in the first place.

Another vote for baba bing!

moobaloo · 13/01/2014 19:09

Baba bing! Mine came from eBay for 99p Grin it's lovely!

wispaxmas · 13/01/2014 19:25

I bought a Sophia & Matt changing bag, and it's gorgeous. Loos big enough for all the essentials, and has handy Velcro straps to attach to the buggy. Plus, it is oil cloth, so will wipe clean easily, and a super cute gender neutral polka dot print.

K8eee · 13/01/2014 19:28

We've now gone for the wallaboo one, luckily it was the second one dh found and didn't think it was too feminine! Thanks for your suggestions everyone Smile

my various changing bags have literally cost me hundreds. for DD2 I have my eye on a nice navy il tutto bag... hubby will no doubt use the boots free one, again! its quite small but fits all & is just plain black & innoffensive & across body which is all very manly. hubs was going to go with some kind of retro record bag but we just never got round to it... probably because I bought so many Grin

bouquetofpencils · 13/01/2014 20:36

I got a Cath Kidston one in half price sale. Wipe clean, loads if pockets including a zipped one, travel changing mat and bottle container (fits 1 large tommee tippee ctn bottle). I love it. Ours is blue but flowery but my DH doesn't care. I love it. Can always get everything I need in it but compact and easy to carry or hang in pram.

livingzuid · 13/01/2014 21:09

If you can treat yourself my friend had an amazing Juicy Couture changing bag. I am still in envy all these years later...

Firsttimemumtobe12 · 14/01/2014 00:13

I'm planning on using the free boots changing bag or the matching bag that comes with my pram. Also got one of them car tidy things that slot over front seats and gona put the contents of a changing bag into that just incase we ever run out when out and about or forget to pick the changing bag up in a hurry out the door.

BEEwitched · 14/01/2014 12:41

I'm no help, I have 4 so far.... I'd say look at the free Boots one, though, then you can choose one for yourself that you really like if you want to, and he can use the Boots changing bag as it is neural.

Haahoooo · 14/01/2014 12:53

I have a big mothercare one but it was far too big / heavy and I ended up using a normal handbag instead.

For DC2 I've just bought a lovely medium size Orla Kiely bag in the sale (search 'linear stem handbag') - it's light and wipeable and will work well as a shoulder bag too when I'm using the sling.

PenguinsDontEatKale · 14/01/2014 13:02

I know you've chosen now, but I second the Sophia and Matt one, like this
