Is it normal to feel so incapicitated at 26 weeks?

Over the Christmas holidays I felt great. I think it was the relaxed routine, lie ins, no rushing etc.

But since Monday and back to school and nursery runs (I have two other kids), I feel about 36 weeks pregnant not 26!

I am measuring big for my dates, I waddle already. Bending down is ungraceful and i'm out of breath climbing the stairs. I'm suddenly panicking about how i'm going to get through the next few months.

I am so excited about this third baby, a lovely surprise I didn't think we'd have. But I could weep about what it's doing to my body.

I'm 24 weeks and am aghast I have another 16 to go.... Not particularly big but really quite uncomfortable, my joints hurt and sleeping is uncomfortable too. I thought I was meant to be glowing!!! I wish I was one of those people that sailed through pregnancy.

So no, you're not alone! Thanks

To be honest i was feeling much the same at 26 weeks. Im 28 weeks now and i feel about 38 lol.

Its becomming increasingly frustrating as my poor DH is having to tug off my winter boots for me now :P

I'm 29 weeks today and everything is just a nightmare. My husband has to out my socks and tights on now Grin I can't stretch upwards, bend down or lean forwards and my back constantly hurts. I hardly sleep due to heartburn and restless legs and boy can I empathise with the breathlessness. I get into bed at night and I'm wheezing like a smoker just because I've climbed a flight of stairs. I'm also waddling a little and the speed of my walk is now really slow....I used to power walk everywhere but his I'm always being overtaken Grin It's insane how much pregnancy affects so much of your life!!

LastOneDancing · 10/01/2014 10:43

27weeks and I had to have a sit down at work yesterday after doing very little. And I went lightheaded when we stopped an hour late for lunch - I've always been a hardy lass, now I'm pathetic!

I have also found this week that if Dancingbaby shifts to the front of my bump it's like trying to walk through treacle. I'm seriously slow and frustrated with my own body!

13 more weeks of this and I'll be raging!

middleclassdystopia · 10/01/2014 10:57

I don't know why i'm surprised, this is my third time!

Think I was hoping for an easier time but nope, it'll be a struggle!

Here comes 3rd trimester!Wink

I had that feeling with some of mine at 4 months, then again at 7 months.

but I sometimes felt more lively around 8 monthsConfused
I think it comes and goes.

sorry, not very helpful, but I sympathise. good luck
(I predict baby to be 9lb 4oz!Wink Grin )

middleclassdystopia · 10/01/2014 11:28

Zing my last two babies were over 9lbs, so it wouldn't surprise me!

I do envy these women with neat little bumps that seem to jig about quite the thing, all the way through.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 10/01/2014 11:31

nah, big fat bellies are the best!Grin

middleclassdystopia · 10/01/2014 11:42

I agree!

you know I heard that mums with smaller bumps secretly wish they had bigger bellies - I think it's called bump envy!Grin

I wonder if it's true.

I remember at 9 months + (with most of mine!) I was envying anybody non-preggers. that's all.Wink

SaucyJack · 10/01/2014 14:29

Yeah, same here (33 weeks)

I'm measuring smallish for dates too- so it's not even that.

Just feel done in all the time.

In general terms, I actually get quite cross with all this modern-day "Pregnancy is not an illness" toss. I still puke everyday and I frequently get overtaken on the pavements by elderly people with sticks because walking is so painful. Bring back the days where we got to lay on the sofa all day Angry

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 10/01/2014 14:40

Saucy

I have always said that after 6 months pregnant mums should be able to obtain a temporary disabled badge.
I'm not even joking.
I'm not saying I'm not capable at all in 3rd trimester, but I'm not fully abled that's for sure.

I can't run, jump, sleep, control my bladder, heck when PSD kicks in I can barely walk.

then add loads of us also lifting and carrying our tots causing incredible back & neck ache and yes there's the vomiting and shortness of breath etc etc.

I know disabled people would cut my throat for that suggestion, but I stand (squat?Grin ) by my opinion!

Larty74 · 10/01/2014 23:07

Most people i see with disabled badges appear pretty "able"to me. Yes im a cynic, but can sympathise with you all for various reasons,(huge bump, spd, sciatica....the list goes on). Ive been so close to parking in a disabled spot, writing a note, leaving it in the window and feeling like who gives a ! Ok, rant over. Just nice to hear there are other out there!

LastOneDancing · 11/01/2014 08:56

I'd certainly argue that heavily pregnant women should be allowed use the 'parent & child' bays if they feel they need to - but I saw a thread on here ripping someone apart at the mere suggestion, so I'll only say it quietly here...Blush

kjh5 · 11/01/2014 11:30

I can sympathise! I'm 26 weeks and have been pretty much stuck at home since 23 weeks. This is my first and I had no idea whatsoever how difficult pregnancy would be. I'm suffering from SPD and a really bad back and I've been waddling for a while, leaving the house fills me with dread and just making it to and back from work is something of an achievement! I was really active pre-pregnancy, exercised a lot and was always out and about so am finding this all doubly difficult. That said, I don't have other DCs to look after, as far as I'm concerned anyone who has that extra responsibility on top of all this is a hero!

SaucyJack · 11/01/2014 11:40

Am laughing bitterly at even the mere thought of jumping Zing......

MrsRV · 11/01/2014 14:20

23 weeks here & this morning nearly cried trying to get ankle length wellies off in the hallway whilst trying not to get mud on the carpet and balance on the mat. I actually thought "I don't remember it being this bad so early on last time". It's a pain in the arse. but thank the lord DD (2 in March) has finally learnt to go down the stairs backwards on her front. Now to get her into a bed so I don't have to bend over that friggin cot anymore. I'd love a third baby but FUCK THAT.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 11/01/2014 14:49

slippers and crocs are you friend MrsRV and thick fluffy socks!

this is definitely my last one.
I'm 40 in August and I don't think my body/mind would cope with another one after this.
I never thought I'd ever feel this way (and was worried I'd never feel finished) but when you know, you know.
