Feeling quite sad about going on mat leave

Don't get me wrong I'm dying on my feet at work. 26 weeks still got sickness and spd, and my job means I'm on my feel all day over 6 days a week, so I'm looking forward to leaving for that reason.

I leave in 3-4 weeks at 30 weeks as the spd is getting worse. But now I'm feeling really sad I love my job and all the people I work with. I know I will be back this time next year . Any body else found it sad leaving work.

Nope, I couldn't wait TBH! But can I reassure you that you'll most probably love mat leave. Never thought I'd be the sort of person to actually enjoy being a SAHM but I wished I'd never had to go back to work. Seeing a tiny person grow into a small person and making loads of new friends in the same boat was so rewarding. I enjoyed being able to cook dinner for when DH came home and everything was so much better organised than now that I'm back at work. I even liked the budgeting and being able to spend time getting bargains in charity shops!

It's natural to feel apprehensive about a new challenge for lots of reasons, but this new challenge will be even more rewarding :)

Im with you SweetPea. I'm only 17 weeks but dreading the thought of leaving work, I can't imagine not going in every day. Its weird.

I'm running around for 8 odd hours a day and nearly 3 hours commuting so I'm not sure how long I'll last nearer the end. I also have a incomplete cervix due to previous problems which might result in bed rest.

There is a concept in How I Met Your Mother called "graduation goggles" When you know something is ending you see all the good bits and not the bad bits.

Good luck with the next 3-4 weeks. Thanks

Hi sweetpea i feel exactly the same. Im only 18 weeks and i have 99 working days left to go. I love my job and the people i work with and i have given blood, sweat and tears to get to where i am now. I have 50 people who report yo me on a daily basis and the thought of suddenly being a sahm is scaring me at the present. I am worried i will be perceived differently and treated differently. It's such a big change x
