Being induced tomorrow - bricking it!!

So I'll be 40+12 tomorrow and I'm getting induced have to be at the hospital at 730am!

The fact that I could have gone into labour anytime the last few months hasn't phased me as it would have been random and put of my control I guess. - the fact that it's happening tomorrow it's scaring he crap put of me!! I mean it's going to happen tomorrow for definite!

I'm so scared I think more of the 'unknown' being a first timer I've never been through labour so I just don't know how I'm going to cope. My cervix is very soft and stretchy and my midwife said id be very unlucky not to go into labour Before tomorrow (had a sweep Monday) so I guess I'm just unlucky and DD is comfy!! Lol

I guess I just need a little reassurance!?
Dp says I'll do great and I'll be fine which I hope am sure I will but as I have a set date I can't help thinking how nervous I am.
Or how we first feed will go or even how I will be after.
Argh sorry this wasn't even meant to be a long rant lol
If you've gotten this far then thanks!

Congratulations! Am sooo jealous! I'm seven weeks and have to be induced at 38 weeks due to medical reasons. I know I will be bricking it but at least this thread has reassured me a bit!

Thanks all. When I got here I was having tightening but not very painful. They put the pessery in as after 20 mins they had to take it out because the contractions were so strong!

Midwives said they would never have thought id have a baby today lol they were goi to send me home with the pessary. It was only the fact that the contractions got stronger so quick and I wasn't having a break In between that they sent me straight to labour ward. Had to stay mThey also said that my labour was only 2 hours and are amazed I didn't need stitches.

Dp said no to cutting the cord so in my off my head on g&a and in shock the midwife helped me cut it. Was amazing.

Amelia is amazing she's so placid. I'm awe struck.

Although I think I have the biggest pile known to man! Lol

Had to stay monitored throughout as the contractions were so close together.
So I didn't get a water birth.
They wanted my to have an epidural because the contraction were fast and wrong etc but I refused. Had dia morphine but didn't work as labour was too quick.

The quickness was largely down to my hypermobility syndrome.
But yeh all over and we are both doing well. :)

Congratulations Stom! Flowers It sounds like you had a pretty positive experience - I'm so pleased for you!

I went into hospital late on New Year's Day due to reduced movement, and although all was fine the midwife gave me a sweep as I was already overdue. Went into labour about 2.30 the following day, and DS2 arrived at 8pm weighing 7lb 6oz Smile

Strangely, I also had gas and air, and a shot of morphine that didn't have time to work - it was bloody agony! Did wonders for the after pains though Grin

Stom91 · 04/01/2014 22:15

Thanks. I went from 1cm to 10cm in 4 hours!
Was so quick! But home and she's is amazing!
I still got the after pains too! Lol

Hope you're doing well too x
