Hi ladies,

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and when I stand or walk even for just 5 minutes I get the worst pains In my stomach it gets so bad I need to sit down wherever I am I just have to sit.
My midwife isn't much help so I'd like some advice as I'm worried!
Planning on going to the doctors about this but for the mean time if anyone has been through this please help!Sad

What sort of pain are they? Achy, crampy? I started with an area on my upper bump at around 20 weeks which was very painful when i was walking/standing. I still have it but not as bad. It feels/felt like a bad bruised area and was tender to touch as well. I mentioned it to my mw and she wasnt concerned at all, said prob repeated kicking, although i knew the area was higher than the baby was lying so i just put it down to muscle strain.
As i say it has eased up alot now im 30 weeks so hopfully yours will. But given your concern id still mention it to your mw as she may be more proactive then mine.

Look up pelvic girdle pain or spd as it might be linked to that. If it is you can get a referral to an nhs physio or book a one off appt with a private physio both of whom can teach you some hints and tips and poss arrange a suitable support belt for the rest of the pregnancy.
