Do movements increase before going into labour

I know It's probably just wishful thinking on my part but currently 37+3 and over the last few days baby has been very active, much more so than usual, does this/could this mean something is about to happen? Had an internal examination on Friday last week and consultant (seeing one as diabetic) said my cervix was softening and head was down but she didn't expect me to go into labour myself anytime soon so have been booked in for an induction a week today.

I fully expect to be induced as planned but hoping hoping HOPING to go myself before then so probably just clutching at straws.

TBH any change in movement as to what is normal for your baby should always be checked out. Not wishing to frighten you, but always best to be on the safe side.

That's the thing, it could be normal as I've always had quieter days followed by "busier" ones so it could just be that I happen to have had two busy ones within a couple of days of my examination and now I'm getting my hopes up. Had the heart rate checked last Monday and baby was just as active as it has been today and yesterday and consultant was more than happy with everything so I'm not worried but if anything changes will give midwife a call.

I gave birth at 37+3 and the night before he was going absolutely crazy! I was lying on my side and me a boyfriend felt him dancing for about an hour it was crazy! Smile
