Old episiotomy scar sore again??

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow with dc2 and my 3 year old scar has been intermittently stinging/sore today along my perineum. Kinda like a knitting needle has poked me straight on. Has anyone else noticed their old perineal scars sensitive during pregnancy?

Got my 24 week check with the GP tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else has noticed something similar?

Yep, my episiotomy scar throbs or gets painful quite often. Sort of feels like a fresh wound again. I'm now 36 weeks and some days it feels like my scars are the only thing holding me together (i had a 4th degree tear 2 yrs ago).

I think its just where there is extra pressure on the general area and more blood flow makes it more sensitive.

im 35 weeks and have also had recent twinges from mysons delicate entry wounds (3rd degree tear plus episiostomy).

seeing as you both sound like you had similarly ruinated fannies to me in your previous pregnancies do you mind me asking what type of deliveries (other than hopefully less awful) you are planning this time?

I'm having a planned c-section in 3 weeks time, that is if i make it that far. I'm currently strapped to a monitor in hospital & being kept in overnight due to pains which are either contractions or very strong braxton hicks. I've got fingers crossed its braxton hicks.

cake is the c due to the tears and if so is it your preference, advice of consultant, or combination?

hope you are ok did previous dc(s) come early?

I'm having a csection. My decision, consultant was fine with it. Booked in for 39 weeks in April.

Its a combination, we also had shoulder dystocia, pph, post natal depression & post traumatic stress disorder. All gynaes i saw during recovery recommended elcs but did say it would be my choice. It was an easy choice to make & my partner fully supports my decision as he never wants to go through that hell again.

Yes my DS arrived at 38+4 after my waters broke at 38+1. Plus i'm hypermobile which means i'm slightly higher chance of early labour.
