hi to everyone,
I am 7 weeks pregnant with my second child (due august 19) after a missed miscarriage last december and at the age of 40, trying to conceive for more than 2 years. this time, we are very anxious because of our loss and my age. everything was going well, bhcg levels high and increasing and we scheduled our first scan for next saturday. i've had constant nausea and vomitted almost everyday for the whole week. today, i was very foolish to be able to hit my pelvic bone to the toll gate, i am thin so it was painful. since then, my nausea had gone. maybe i am all exaggerating and there is no relatinship but i am too scared and worried. can this hit lead to miscarriage? can nausea go all of a sudden? for more then one week , bitterness in my mouth is gone for the first time. it has been 8 hours since i last felt my symptoms.
thanks for your help.

I don't really know but I would be very surprised if symptoms disappeared immediately due to the knock you had, I was under the impression symptoms are to do with hormone levels and so it would take a while for them to drop.

Also, in v early pg the baby is tucked away in your pelvis so unlikely to get harmed by bumps and bangs.

I know how you feel though, I had two MCs and was TTC for 2years so it is very hard to relax.

Hopefully all will be well at your scan, good luck!

I can understand why you are worried, after all you have been through.

However, fluctuating symptoms are totally normal, as are not having any at all. I didn't have any nausea/sickness/breast tenderness. The only symptoms I had early on was exhaustion and even that came and went. I'm 30 weeks pregnant now.

Have you thought about booking in for a private reassurance scan? They are great if you are worried or if -like me- you are extremely impatient!

Enjoy your pregnancy OP, massive congrats! Thanks

Thank you for your comments and good wishes. i just came from dinner outside and ate unbelievable things, i ate twice as much as i can eat when i am not pregnant and nothing happened , no nausea. just yesterday i was eating only bread and vomiting it. so , whether this is related or not, i am still worried. if my symptoms don't return tomorrow, i will call the doctor and reschedule the scan before saturday. i hope this new year won't bring tears for me. december itself scares me, because of the unfortunate things that happened last december.
HotCrossPun, i think non existence of symptoms is different from disappearance of existing symptoms ( mine were very serious and now gone), you are a very lucky lady, i hope you will always be that lucky.

Hi doga1974, I'm sorry you're as worried as you are. A similar thing happened to me on Friday - my horrendous nausea suddenly went - and fortunately I was able to get an appointment to have a scan done today ( I also suffered a mmc previously which is why I panicked). Anyway, I went to the scan and saw exactly what I should have seen at this stage (I'm 6 + 2 weeks pregnant). Symptoms don't necessarily mean anything. Very, very best of luck to you.

Don't forget that nausea stops once the placenta takes over, so this may be what is happening. Also, symptoms do seem to come and go. I've felt pretty normal today compared to how I usually feel and I was worried about it but hopefully all is fine.

thank you very much. I am so relieved to hear this. nausea continued for nearly 5 months when i was pregnant with my daughter (non-stop), so perhaps this is my prejudice. perhaps this pregnancy is different.

Yep, every pregnancy is different.

I'm currently 10 weeks, and the nausea comes and goes. I bet in a couple of days you'll be wishing you felt well again!
Seriously though, symptoms do come and go. x

Hi doga I've not had terrible nausea but about the same stage as you I unexpectedly had a day where my symptoms went away and I felt brilliant. Next day I was retching again like before.

It's very hard not to worry, especially after a previous bad experience but symptoms do funny things and I think it extremely extremely unlikely that taking a bump on your pelvic bone would cause anything bad to happen. Little bean is well protected in there.

Take care and good luck for your pregnancy Flowers

hi again, we just came from the scan. everything is going well, our baby is fine. it seems that i overreacted. because of the previous miscarriage, our doctor wants us to come for another scan next week. thank you for your support. :)
