I know this has been done before but does anyone have any suggestions on meals to make and freeze?

Casseroles
bolognaise
Hearty soup
pasta sauce- a stash of cheese sauce and tomato based ones are good

i would agree with above, but to be honest when my son was born was twiddling thumbs with boredom and enjoyed the normality of cooking! so dont go crazy! x

Last time I bought disposable oven tray things from Home Bargains for lasagne and Shepherd's pie.

Chilli and curry freeze well.

Get in some of that part baked French bread and uht milk too!

Fresh pasta with a longish shelf life too. Dead easy and feels more special than dried!

Sorry to sound stupid but... do you freeze things like lasagne and shepherds pie before cooking? So for example with lasagne, assemble it all, bechamel sauce etc, then what - wait for it to cool down before freezing? Have always wondered if the pasta would curl up under the sauce and then you get those yucky uncooked bits??

I have my two sisters-in-law with one husband and 4 children under 5 between them staying for a month in April with me, DH, 2yr DS and 8yr step-daughter. I'm due 28th April... Seriously need to start preparing meals!!
Have also thought of making:
Sausage casserole
Beef vegetable stew
Slow cooker packs - like on pinterest?
Fish pie

I haven't bothered freezing 'assembled' things like lasagne and shepherd's pie. I've frozen the bolognese sauce and shepherd's pie mince but I've never felt the need to assemble them to freeze. I know a lot of people do, though. If I were going to do it, I'd cook it as normal first, let it cool and then freeze it.

I freeze lasagne and shepherds pie. I make 2 and then pop one in the freezer.
I make it. Part bake it. Let it cool. In freezer.
When I need it. I take it out if freezer. Let it defrost. Pop in oven. Because it's only been part baked previously, it's perfect.
