Lots of pressure downstairs

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum. I am 23weeks pregnant with MCDA twins following a round of IVF. It's been a bit of a roller coaster so far - fretting most of the way - but am excited to be on the cusp of 24 weeks from which time I hope to relax a little more into the pregnancy.
For the last week or so I have been feeling lots of pressure in vagina/pelvis area and generally inside the lady parts! It feels like my lady parts are opening and there's lots of stretching going on with the added sensation of pressure going right back towards my bottom. My GP and osteopath (who I've been seeing for several weeks due to sciatica and back pain) assure me this is just growing pain and stretching in the pelvis and I did mention the pressure at my last antenatal clinic. Dr said that as long as there are no contractions etc all should be well. They did say a cervical examination could be performed to check, but I was a little wary of this. Baby 1 is lying breech lower down so is likely to be putting lots of pressure on this area is what my rational mind says, but irrational pregnant lady mind keeps posing the issue of preterm labour and other nasty things.
Can anyone share any experiences of this type of pressure and whether it is normal at this stage? It is worse at night and feels like there is something pushing on that area most of the time. Would a cervical exam be a good option to put my mind at rest or is this an extreme case of over-worrying?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
