Alcohol free wine

Hey guys this post has probably been done to death in previous years but I was wondering can anyone recommend a alcohol free wine that's convincing? I've tried a few in the past and it was basically grape juice. Is there anything out there believable? Becks blue was good I remember but any wine or fizz for Xmas?

No I would suggest that you don't bother. It's all grim!!!

Cairn O Mohr Elderflower sparkling wine is simply lovely.

I have never tried alcohol free wine but like several of the non-alcoholic beers (Bavaria 0% from Waitrose is my favourite, still drink it and my youngest is 4Smile) but as a wine replacement I used to drink cranberry or grape juice with sparkling water in a wine glass.

I've tried so many.. and a few low alcohol (up to about 4-5%) ones too. All bloody disgusting and far too sweet. Would far rather drink something that is supposed to be something else like a really nice cocktaily fruit juice, not something pretending to be wine if that makes sense. It's all wrong.

Becks Blue is good as beer (0%), along with a few other beers. Low strength Guinness is good as well but of course that depends on whether you are happy with any alcohol at all! Or beer, for that matter!

Haven't found any convincing wines but the one from morrisons is probably the best. I find rose is nicest.

Koppaberg non alcoholic fruity cider is very nice and tastes like the real thing.

Sparkling wines are all very sweet but I still drink them

I agree becks blue is good too

:)

Also ikea do a nice non alcoholic mulled wine

moobaloo · 23/12/2013 10:26

I second MrsVDB - IKEA non alcoholic mulled wine is drinkable and only about £1.75 a bottle but it is "mulled" as opposed to "actual" wine and therefore sweet etc.

I've been looking for a nice dry red wine substitute and can't find anything, it's all like grape juice Sad

My DP found me cans of sparkling cocktail mixers (which you can add alcohol to if you want) which are actually low in sugar (no added I believe) and no sweeteners, so I've got Mojito, Strawberry Daquiri and Peach Bellini in the cupboard and they are yummy Grin I think they were from waitrose

I have had Carl Jung wines which are definitely the best of a bad bunch IMO. I don't know how to do links properly here but you can get them from www.alcoholfree.co.uk

Otherwise I'm drinking Becks Blue, Bavaria 0% beer, and things like tonic water and bitter lemon etc

Hope that helps Smile

I have bought some non-alcoholic sparkling and red wine from Sainsburys. Not tried it yet but it wasn't expensive so even if it's horrid it's worth a try I thought.

I know that I'm really going to miss my little glass of wine on a Sat night and over Xmas. I had a bottle of the alcohol free Kopparberg and whilst its lovely (genuinely no difference in taste) I know I'll crave that little glass of wine :(

Stevie77 · 23/12/2013 17:45

The wines are all, without exception, horrid. Becks Blue I enjoyed with my first but this time found it tasted like soap Envy. Bavaria 0% is much nicer and tastes like beer!
