I have a MamaTens which I purchased as I thought that might be best in the long run.

Will be using it again with DC#2 in Feb. It was marvellous last time. It really helped with the pain.

It was this one www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000QG79DO

They sell really well on eBay when you've finished having babies!

Thank you ! Did they help in labour?

Yes. It was the only thing that I found helpful. Put it on low when contractions started and managed 5 hours sleep.

Got through all of the rest of my labour by counting to midway through the contraction and pressing boost. When it got really bad and I couldn't count any more DH counted for me.

Was 7cm on arrival at hospital and in good shape thanks to tens. Was offered G&A but it interfered with me using my beloved tens so asked for that to be taken away and carried on with tens.

All my friends liked theirs too. I think I was particularly well suited to it but I read somewhere that 9 out of 10 women who use one first time use one again so they must be good for most people.

I really hope it helps me as much second time!

Just choose one with a neck cord and big boost button so you can get to it with minimal effort.

Oh, put it on really early in labour as the sensation takes some getting used to.

I have the femmetens from www.babycaretens.com. You can hire or purchase from there. It's the one that was recommended to us at our antenatal classes. I used it right up until 9/10 cms - with no other form of pain relief. It was fantastic (though I'm aware that it's not for everyone). I think it worked more as a distraction than actual pain relief. I had a back to back labour though, so the majority of the pain was in my lower back anyway.

Will definitely be reusing this time!
