Serious concerns over pre natal care at PRUH

Expecting dc 3 and have started to have serious anxiety about my pre natal care at my local hospital .. It started at my 16 week appointment when m/w forgot to take my bp but wrote a made up one in my notes .. I complained and was told it would be investigated .. I have an underactive thyroid and take 75mg of lethyroxine .. Had a obsetotrician app at 18 weeks and she was shocked no one has tested my thyroid .. Did a blood test and referred me to thyroid specialist this was on 7th nov . I heard nothing and as my next obsetotrician app was coming up I called around 20th nov .. Advised by m/w bloods were fine, but had no record of me being referred .. I then get a v/mail today to say the dr looked at my blood results and I need to increase thyroxine by 50mg a day from now and go in ASAP. For blood test ... How has it taken from the 7th nov to the 17th dec for a dr to look at my blood test results ... I feel I have lost any faith in them and now feel scared to have my baby there x

It is very likely that the same midwife won't be looking after you in delivery, so one person being sloppy won't hopefully mean the whole unit is bad. Falsifying records and interpreting results normal, when they are not is a very serious mistake though and you should complain so that the supervisor of midwives can investigate whether this midwife is fit to practise. Don't be afraid to kick up a fuss, it is a good way to ensure more care will be taken in your care in the future. If you are thinking of looking elsewhere you can compare units on www.birthchoiceuk.com.
