Since 8 weeks I've been hugging a feather pillow to help me sleep on my side/ stop my arms going numb but now I think it's time (I am 19 weeks) to invest in a proper pillow. I've tried the boomerang ones when staying over with friends and I'm genuinely underwhelmed. I'm tempted by the theraline beany one. Anyone had good suggestions? Thanks loads in advance!! Xx

I just used the argos maternity pillow. I loved it. I recently refilled it before storing it away. Really reasonable.

I got it on a half price deal

I've just been using a bolster. Works fine, and will have a post pregnancy purpose.

I've got the dream genii baby nest long bendy pillow. It's quite versatile as can be used stretched out long like a traditional bolster, in a v shape or doubled over. It seems much more versatile than the weird shaped original dream genii pregnancy pillow. Plus it will work well as a baby nest/ breast feeding pillow later on. Mine was about £37 from Ana Wiz but you can get them on eBay a bit cheaper. W

Meant to say it was worth every penny.

Got the Theraline beany one and really like it. I'm tall so I think it helps that it's really long which means that I can have it between my knees, under bump, hug it and still have a bit left to rest my head on. I'm basically entwined around it... It's soft and also quite warm which is great in this weather but might be a bit much in the summer. Ordered it from Amazon, arrived v quickly.

Another vote for the Theraline! Have it between my knees and my arms and it's very comfortable. Might keep it post pg! My only worry is how I will get through upcoming visits to family without it (too big to pack).

Personally I wouldn't bother!and I've got pgp and hip pain nearly 37 weeks. I got dream geni early on from tk maxx but a couple of normal pillows, one between legs and other under bump, has been more than fine.

Wouldn't worry about sleeping on your side advice that has been discredited. Only issue with lying on your back is at the very very end of pregnancy and you would wake yourself up if getting dizzy and move naturally. Its all a bit hysteria designed to sell stuff imho!

quackojuliet · 18/12/2013 10:12

Should say only used dream genii about a week before realising it made me stay in one position so made my hip pain worse!

PenguinsDontEatStollen · 18/12/2013 10:29

I had a dream genie with DD1. It was useless. Wrong dimensions for a tall woman, and forced me into an uncomfortable position.

Have borrowed others and not liked them. Pesonally I find normal pillows most versatile.

I got a dream genii second hand and it's rubbish. I have to use it backwards to get the long bit to stay between my knees.

I had a blissful night surrounded by normal pillows at the weekend in a Superkins bed at my parents, but our bed at home is too small for this arrangement!!

Iv got a theraline as I'm 6ft. I love it!
