My placenta is placed on top of my baby and this is also #1... Is it normal to not feel movement yet?

Yes perfectly normal with a 1st baby. I didn't feel anything until 21 weeks and even then it was just like a teensy little muscle twitch hardly noticeable.

Hi, 18 weeks is still very early to feel anything, I wouldn't worry! I don't think I felt anything definitely 'baby' until about 22-23 weeks. Before then I had a few bubbly sensations that may have been him or may have been gas Blush So yes, totally normal!

I didn't feel anything with either pregnancy at 18 weeks - 1st one was a few days after the 20 week scan, second was about 19 weeks. Definitely just bubbles/twitches at first.

Yes totally normal especially with your first baby. Please don't worry.

Very normal but if you're worried, go into your AN clinic and ask them to run the doppler over your tummy.

With DS1, he stopped moving for a few days at around 20w - because my Mum had just died, I was very worried that the stress had got to him, so went in to the clinic and bless them, they took me through in about 10 minutes. All fine, thankfully.

I was told by my Obstetrician that for women having their first babies and who have an anterior placenta, movement isn't really expected to be felt until about 21-22 weeks gestation.

I was 24 weeks before I felt anything this time round. 18 weeks is very early.
