Hi ....I had my baby 2years 7 months ago..breast fed for 4 months.

And now still my left breast is still filling up with milk..not hugely but it is bigger than my right.
Gp says it will take its own time to go back to normal! But it will be 3yrs soon!

Has this happened to anyone else. ..and are the pills they give you to dry out the milk safe??

Gp said to avoid them as they can cause breast cancer later on!!!

Really need some advice ..!

I still got milk about 3 years later, very small amounts but still milk. Quite common I think.

I wouldn't worry but have a chat to HV if you want to put your mind to rest.

But my breast is maybe a size if not a bit more larger than the other...and the other breast has maybe a drop of milk in it. Where as other has alot more and I always have throbbing/sore pain. Is that normal??? :(

Yes, this can be normal.

Do you express the milk on the 'active' breast? If so, stop as milk-removal will encourage more milk production.
Take Ibuprofen if that agrees with you.
I suppose it would not hurt to try the cold-cabbage-leaf-in-bra thing.

Iv been using the cabbage for ages but and off. Its the only thing that relieves the pain and swelling. It dies even reduce the size also. ..but after a few weeks it happens again! :((

I dont try to remove the milk otherwise it will encourage more milk production like you say.

When did you last see your GP?

And what bothers you most: the fact that there is still milk? Do you worry there is something seriously wrong?
Or the discomfort/difference in size?

You could always go back and ask to be referred to a breast clinic for reassurance and further advice.
