Baby's movements slowing down - 37weeks

Over the last 2 days I have noticed the baby's movements have been slowing down.
Yesterday he barely moved all day. Then in the eveningI felt him wriggle about for an hour or so but then during the night he never moved each time I went to the bathroom or drank cold water.
Have been playing with my tummy this morning and flipping over from one side to the other quickly and he has shifted his bum a few times and moved his knees, but again its not as much as it used to be.

I know they are lacking space at this stage and I dont want to waste a whole morning going to hospital for nothing but, has this happened to you, should I be concerned?

Is less movement ok as long as you can still get movement??

Also his patterns have always been irregular. Some days he would be so active all day and night and then some days really chilled. Its hard to keep track. What would you do?

Any change in movement should be checked out. Get looked at - it is all probably fine, but no-one will see it as a waste of time.

Lots of people think it's normal for movements to slow in late pregnancy, but it's not true.

I felt this around the same diet if time, I called the maternity ward just to be safe and they told me to come in.
They hooked me up to a heart rate monitor and turned out she was fine but the midwives all said the same thing:
If you're not sure then call them, you aren't pestering them and it will give you peace of mind that your baby is ok.
DD is absolutely fine but I wouldn't have been able to relax had I not gone in and had her checked out, at the stage in pregnancy you don't need any extra stress!

Diet if time? Sort of time! Damn you autocorrect

I'd call your maternity ward for some reassurance. It may just be that baby is lacking room or getting ready to be born!! By calling the wars you'll get some answers and perhaps a bonus scan Grin

He has just become really active! I feel really silly...
Im going to maybe wait a bit and play with him in my tummy and see how he responds to that. If he goes quiet again Ill call the ward.
I guess its always best to call your right.

God I just want this to be over and for the baby to be born !!!

Don't feel silly at all, you're doing exactly what your supposed to & looking out for your child.
Just think there is only a few weeks to go & then they'll be here Grin

(Make the most of those weeks! Have lie ins, go out to nice places, enjoy being able to eat uninterrupted & with both hands!)

Glad there's movement but I'm posting this link ink case there's anyone who stumbles across this thread in the future Count the Kicks

Movement picked up a lot during the day. SO random how it just calms down suddenly and starts again?
Any other mums feels that way?

Give yourself peace of mind & speak to triage.

I made the mistake thinking less movement at 37 weeks was normal - it is NOT normal so please check it out.

One good thing to try is putting something hot (eg cup of tea) or child on your bump and seeing if it gets a reaction - baby will often take exception to it and start wriggling.

Come on...best damn excuse to eat ice cream you'll ever have...

I had the same worry around 32 weeks. I went in. Midwives were lovely. Everything was fine but they want you to get in touch if u are concerned.
