Limited baby movement

Just wondering what's a normal level of baby movement at approx 26wks?

I had very limited movement to date. I put this down to my ultrasound notes stating I am anterior and not being able to feel kicks due to this. However the midwife worried me a bit last week, when she told me if my movements don't improve over the next week to call triage.

The funny thing was, when she listened to the baby's heartbeat she could feel the baby kicking but I couldn't.

I've had a couple of days where I got some movement over the course of a half hour, but then three days of nothing. Lying down, eating and cold drinks don't seem to make any difference.

Not sure whether to leave it over the weekend or not.

If you're concerned, you should go in. It's usually slapped all over the maternity notes that you should never leave it.
If you're concerned, go in.
Doesn't matter if you go in lots, as long as baby and you are ok.

Call Triage. They would rather check you a hundred times and find everything is fine, than miss something important.

All the best, I'm sure all is well!

I had this a couple of weeks ago and too have an anterior placenta. Phoned the labour ward and they weren't concerned Hmm really pissed me off if I'm honest. If you're worried call. It'll put your mind at rest Thanks

I called Triage and have been told to go up and get it checked out.

Was also told to have something to eat first. Not sure if that's to help with a scan or something, or an indication that I'm likely to be there for a while.... :-)
