Hiya everyone, yesterday I found out that I'm 5 weeks pregnant (yay!!). We are both so happy, but I'm really struggling to stay positive. I had a miscarriage in May at around 11 weeks and I just can't stop thinking the same is going to happen again. I don't think you get any extra care with only having had one previous MC either. Every little pain I get is worrying me, I still feel as though I am about to 'come on' but obviously nothing happens. I was wondering if any of you are going through the same? And any tips to try and stop worrying so much! Thank you :)

Congratulations! I am 38 wks pg after a previous MMC and know how hard it can be in the early weeks. I had some CBT after my miscarriage to deal with my worrying/anxiety, and one of the most helpful things it helped me to realise is that the behaviour of 'worrying' doesn't change anything at all other than to make your days horrible. I decided in the end that I had been through a horrible time with the MC, but I wasn't going to put myself through another version of that pain every day by worrying about something that was probably not going to happen. As it is I've been lucky enough to have a very normal and problem free pregnancy (as most pregnancies are). The book 'the Worry Cure' by Robert Leahy is good for teaching you some of the strategies that can help if your worrying is getting out of control.

Good luck and I hope you can enjoy your pregnancy.

Thank you very much for your reply, this has certainly made me feel a bit better :). I too suffered after, I took around 2 months off work because I couldn't cope. I was convinced it was something I had done wrong. I am going to try and focus on the positives! Thank you again!
