Hi ladies,

I guess I just need ressurance that I need to seek help! I've had bad ms for over 3 weeks am sick as soon as I get out of bed (even if Ive snacked on a biscuit) then after breakfast, I'm then nauseous all day but not actually sick, get home from work exhausted and try and eat some tea-tiny portion of bland things I think I might be able to stomach. I am then sick again and end up in bed. I can't keep doing this and am worried for both my health and babies (am now 10 weeks) who should I speak to my gp or midwife?

I think you just need to try eating more tbh. I found the more I ate, the less sick I felt. (I was nauseous all day, and sick usually in the mornings and evenings). If you are only throwing up a couple of times a day first and last thing, it's probably manageable and not doing baby any harm.

Mine got better at around 16 weeks, and then worse again the last 6 weeks.

Maybe work a bit harder at trying to get more food in? It doesn't sound serious enough at the mo for hyperemesis gravidarum or anything.

Presumably you've tried all the usual stuff? Chat with your midwife for some more ideas?

Op I suffered with HG which is a sever form of morning sickness and food aversion right up till I was about 25/26 weeks. I was actually sick throughout the whole day and at points I couldn't even drink water at all ended up in hospital on a drip on a few occassions. What I can say is your baby will be fine. The baby will take everything it needs from you regardless of what you eat. The only person that will suffer is you. I am 35+4 now and my HG hasn't affected the baby at all.

If you are really concerned then speak to your MW or make an appointment with your GP. They will likely test your urine to check your keyton levels. If these are high they may give you some tablets to help with the sickness. I choose not to take the tablets because I didn't want any chemicals in my system whilst baby was developing in the first trimester but I suffered for it. If you do have HG, you won't be able to stomach anything including water. I couldn't even look at or smell food without been sick.

I really sympathise Op its awful been really ill. Flowers

Hi OP I completely sympathise, sometimes I find the relentless nausea worse than the actual vomiting. It's very difficult to deal with, amd has nearly pushed me over the edge.
Go see your GP, he/she can prescribe medication to try and help control it, and perhaps give you some time off work, I find if I'm tired and I haven't eaten it makes it 10 times worse.

Hugs, it's really awful but hopefully once the placenta kicks in full time it will get a bit better.
