I have had a quinny buzz for 2 years and I love it! We've even taken it abroad on holiday. Great for newborn right through to toddler

EmB1715 · 27/11/2013 06:53

I used a quinny buzz as a nanny and found the tyres got punctures and would deflate leaving me stuck!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/11/2013 07:10

My Quinny Buzz is going strong 4 years later with my DNiece. No punctures ! Easy to steer one handed and you need to do this more than you realise Grin

Rockchick1984 · 27/11/2013 08:13

Quinny buzz is sooooo wide, I got stuck in loads of shops!!

TarkaTheOtter · 27/11/2013 09:15

I've just sold my quinny as need a double and it's made me realise how easy to push it was compared to other pushchairs (in particular Phil and teds even as a single). I also never had a puncture in two years although I did have a faulty frame which needed returning. It is wide but I never had a problem with that.
With my model you had to take the seat off to fold which was annoying but I think the newer ones fold as one.

I recommend ebay for one though as they don't hold their value as well as other brands so it's possible to get a good deal. Look for ones without the buzz box and XL seat. Newer models (post 2011) come with a shopping basket and single size seat instead.

We fell for the prettiness of the Stokke Xplory, but the baby isn't here yet, so it's still in the box!

They tend to have a lot of fans, though. I don't hear much bad being said about them.

We got a 2nd hand Stokke off ebay for DS (now 21 months) and have loved it from the start. No complaints except it takes up room in the porch as it doesn't really fold down, but you can push the handle all the way down to make it a little more compact.

TarkaTheOtter · 27/11/2013 17:00

aussie maybe it's a different quinny I am thinking about that folds as one. It briefly caught my eye on the tv screen in the hospital waiting room so very likely I am wrong.

TarkaTheOtter · 27/11/2013 17:03

Just to confuse you further OP, I wish I had bought an Uppababy Vista. Especially now it can take a second seat.

Rockchick1984 · 27/11/2013 18:05

Aussie the Stokke has virtually no suspension so if you tried to use it over gravel you would either get stuck, or it would be horribly bouncy for the baby (not much better than a tesco trolley!!)

I think its the Quinny Moodd that folds as one piece, not the buzz?

suedehead · 27/11/2013 21:05

Hi Naomi
We have a Stokke for our 2.5 yr old. I do really like it, and always get compliments about it when we're out. That said, it's not practical for all situations.

We've ended up buying two additional pushchairs - an off-road one with three wheels and pneumatic tyres, as the Stokke is hopeless on gravelly paths (like Aussie says). We also bought a cheap umbrella-style folding one to take away on holidays, as the Stokke folds down, but only when in two pieces, which some airlines won't let you fly with.

So, the Stokke is great for pavements and especially shopping centres! It's got a great selection of seating positions, and the footmuff is super-cosy for this time of year. But if you're even remotely outdoorsy, I predict you'll want to buy an extra off-roader.

Oh, but I bumped into another parent with one who said that the Stokke car seat is awful - she spent the first year of her child's life sitting in the back holding the seat in place (if someone else was there to drive)! We went for the Maxi-Cosi Pebble plus adaptors which was great when DS was in a rear-facing car seat.

Oh, and I'd have a look at Tarka's suggestion too - a friend has the Uppababy which I think looks great! Stylish but still practical for outdoorsy stuff too.

Good luck...!

MrsVDB · 28/11/2013 08:13

I have bought the uppababy vista and also maxi cosi pebble after much research for all rounders but baby isn't here yet so can't provide any feedback :)

weeblueberry · 28/11/2013 12:46

I know it's not what you asked op but I got an uppababy vista too and utterly love it. The pram bit is good for overnight use which has helped us out on a number of occasions and it's excellent on all terrains we've tried it on. :)

Naomilouise1992 · 28/11/2013 15:36

Oh god I'll have a look at this other pram now!

I love the look of the stokke I hate being outdoors haha... Iv read the quinny needs it's wheels taking off to get in some cars hmm... Xxxxxx

Uppababy Vista all the way

LGandPandnow3 · 03/12/2013 10:22

I really wanted the Stokke... Love it! But I read lots of reviews and it did seem to break quite a lot. I want mine to convert for a second child but although the Stokke says it does apparently it isn't great in reality. It's also much more expensive. We also went for the Uppababy vista!

FairyJen · 03/12/2013 10:27

op what area are you in? Some places are just not geared towards wide pram frames so of your London based and want to use trains/tubes you may struggle slightly.

rallytog1 · 03/12/2013 11:14

I have got the quinny buzz and I love it, although we live in a fairly rural area and I walk or drive everywhere. I think if I was somewhere more urban I wouldn't find it as good, as it can be a nightmare on public transport because it can't fold in one piece.

There's no substitute for spending some time in the shops trying out different prams imho - try to think about your lifestyle and how you get around while you're doing this.

Naomilouise1992 · 03/12/2013 21:34

Okay so I stupidly jumped into buying a stokke!!! Love how it looks but hope I don't regret not getting the uppababy xxx

Dipsey00 · 03/12/2013 21:42

Which best buy is the uppababy vista that's what I am going for. Love the look of the stokie but I have been converted.

Tea1Sugar · 06/12/2013 06:14

Bugaboo chameleon :-) haven't road tested as back is still cooking but it looks amaze (despite costing £800 eek!)

mlbear · 06/12/2013 07:33

We went for stokke scoot as its easy to fold, slim for city living &imo pretty :) discussed our lifestyle with the advisor in the shop &she confirmed its not practice for hiking, grass etc but we don't do this kind of activity now, Im not going to start when the baby gets here!
