Feeling faint in 3rd trimester

I'm 32 weeks and have nearly fainted on 2 occasions recently - both when I was on my own in the supermarket which was v embarrassing.

Never happens normally, or in my last pregnancy. Does this need to be checked out or is it to be expected? My next midwife appointment isn't for 2 weeks.

Def go and get your blood pressure checked ( our drs surgery offer walk in service with a nurse for this) . How have your iron levels been?

I had this. I had low blood pressure. Go get it checked out.

Def get checked, as said above sounds like low bp, which is normal, but maybe low iron too?

Thanks for your replies.

I had my iron level checked at my last appointment 4 weeks ago and the midwife said it was normal for a pregnant person, but I think my blood pressure may be on the low side.

I rang my doctors earlier and they have no midwife appointments available for 2 weeks, but said if I had a problem I should ring my hospital.
I'm pretty sure low blood pressure wouldn't be worth a call to the hospital though....I assume it isn't serious and there's nothing I can do about it.

I'm actually becoming afraid of going out on my own, because both times this happened I was alone and felt really scared and vulnerable, not to mention embarrassing :(

I'm 35+5 and ended up on Labour Ward triage on Saturday with the exact same thing - kept feeling very dizzy - almost drunk! They did bloods (fine), checked urine (fine), took temperature and blood pressure (both fine). They also monitored the baby - which was also fine. I didn't have this at all with my last pregnancy so I felt really stupid for phoning in. They asked me to go in so that they could assess what was going on and I'm really pleased I did now as it put my mind at rest.

They think that because the baby is back to back and I am short, space is limited. They think that the baby is pressing on the main artery which is affecting my oxygen levels - baby is absolutely fine but it's a bit odd for me...... I'm best off leaning forwards as otherwise I'm not sure how long I'll be upright for!

Hope that's helpful.

headless, just call down in person to your gps and say you need your bp checked. You dont need to see a midwife (though take your hospital notes with you if you have them.)
