Hi ladies, hope you are all well. For the past few days I have been feeling constantly nauseous. I'm at 6 weeks. Can anyone recommend a remedy? Not sure how I am meant to function at work? Did anyone take time off or is that wimpy?!
Thanks x

I can sympathise! But can't offer a cure. Yes I've taken about 4-5 days off. I'm now 15 weeks and seem to be on the other side of it. It sucks, but it's not forever.

Its hard at the beginning but tbh you kind of get used to it and just build it into your day, like going to the toilet.

I was sick every single day of the pregnancy with ds2 but found it does help not to let yourself get hungry - eat little and often

Am afraid there isn't a one cure remedy, I was always told ginger helps with the sickness, well not for me it made me throw up!. With my first pregnancy it was eating little and often and adding in some sweets which curbed the sickness. With my second it was vanilla ice cream, random but it worked a treat. Am on my third pregnancy and never came across anything that helped, I certainly knew what to avoid, but just had to muddle through till the sickness subsided at about 11 weeks.

Eating a little and often helps, even though you don't want to - find something you can stomach, it doesn't matter whether it is healthy or not. For me personally it was throwing up that actually helped Sad

However, if you really are struggling to keep any food down and particularly liquids, even if you're not throwing up, there are drugs that many women take to help. So if you're off work, not peeing as much as usual, losing weight, go to your GP and ask for help. There's no medal for suffering if you feel you just need to be in bed all day every day. Also if you decide to be off work you'll probably need a sick note. Hopefully it will just be during the first trimester and you'll feel better soon.

I found sucking tic tacs helped :)

I was signed off for weeks. Could barely move from the sofa and all I could eat was fruit salad and ice cubes. Every time I went to a supermarket I had to abandon the trolley to go outside and vomit.....
Definitely not wimpy to take some time off. Hope it subsides soon.Smile
