Barnet vs UCLH

At 6 weeks, I went to Barnet after experiencing sharp pains and have been monitored by their EPU. They have made a number of errors at each visit, with regards to appointments. Last week, the sonographer said baby had not grown since the last appointment (10 days earlier) and that I'd had a miscarriage. I waited 3 hours to be seen by a doctor to discuss options, either natural or surgical. The doctor had not even read my notes prior to the session and was happy for me to opt for the natural option (as I have a bicornuate uterus and worried surgical option will carry risk) without explaining what actually happens. After researching the options I would prefer to have an ERPC if it's safe. Something is my heart tells me to have it done in another hospital other than Barnet, as I don't think they have much experience with dealing Bicornuate uterus and I don't want to be their guinea pig. Should I consider UCLH? Are they more professional? I feel so alone and would really appreciate some help, thank you

Chicky, I'm very sorry that you are going through this. I don't have any experience of miscarriage, but I was under UCH for a high risk pregnancy and was an inpatient for several weeks. I would not hesitate to recommend the hospital - modern facilities and all staff were excellent, both from a medical point of view and also the emotional side.

Hi Chicky, I just wanted to second WhatKatyDidnt. I have no experience of bicornuate uterus, but referred myself to UCH EPU at 6/7 weeks for bleeding and I can't fault the care. Everyone from the receptionists through to the Drs were extremely kind and patient, happy to answer questions, reassuring but honest and clear. Professional is exactly the word I'd use to describe them. I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a hard time, I really hope you are ok.
