How do you deal with the tiredness?

I'm into my 11th week now, and I really can't cope with the tiredness Sad. If I get less than 10 hours sleep a night, I can barely cope, and often I have to nap for several hours in the day too. It would be fine, but I work long shifts (usually 12 hours) and I do a uni course too, and I'm really struggling. Does anyone have any tips on how to cope with it/make it better/etc? I already exercise a lot and eat well.

I'm in my 12th week and I can literally sleep for 20 hours a day or more. I don't have any tips on making it easier, just rest as and when you need to and are able to. I'm trying to complete my A2 Levels atm which is extremely hard so I just listen to my body and sleep when I can.
Hope you feel better soon x

Eat lots and regularly through the day. Drink lots of fluids too. I
t does get a bit easier. Then it gets worse again! I'm mainly coping by whinging!!

Make sure you aren't anaemic as this can cause tiredness.

It does get easier. And then it gets harder again towards the end. Keep hydrated, don't fight it, and be grateful you don't have a lively 3yo to entertain!

Thanks guys Smile. I hope it does get better (and soon!) - it's just impossible to get anything done atm as one shift at work is wiping me out for the rest of that day and the day after, and I'm getting behind with uni Sad. I did nowt but sleep yesterday. Pretty sure I'm not anaemic - I wasn't expecting to be anyway as I take a pregnancy supplement with 100% RDA of iron, but I had my bloods taken a couple of weeks ago and nothing's come back from that.

I'm struggling too - am 10 weeks gone and have a 13 month old DD and I can hardly keep my eyes open after 7pm! But I remember being like this with my DD and it did ease a lot at about 13/14 weeks - hopefully it will get easier this time too, I just try and get to bed early and tell myself its hopefully a good sign that all is going as it should be...

I'm 18 weeks and have no energy at all. My iron levels are fine. Nausea has made me shift to a really carb-heavy diet which I know is not helping. I can't keep my eyes open past 8pm! Am sure it wasn't this bad last time - do have a toddler now and am relying on cbeebies...a lot!

Ask for your B12 levels to be checked as mine were low as were my iron levels and that left me exhausted!

BummyMummy77 · 19/11/2013 18:13

I was positive my iron levels must be low. Got tested and they were amazingly high.

I just napped. Constantly. Even just for 10 minutes.
