Tender/sore area on top left side of bump. Anyone else have this or know what it is?

Im 23 weeks so my bump is'nt massive. For about 1 1/2 weeks ive had a tender area in just one particular place and its not getting any better, in fact its feeling worse. Its at the top of my bump on the left side and almost feels bruised or llike a muscle strain.
Stupidly googled it and placental abruption comes up but ive had no other signs of this what so ever and i think the area is actually probaby just above where my uterus ends (of course i cant be certain about this). I do have an antetior placenta however so i am still worried it might be somthing sinister.
Its worse/more painful when im walking around or doing anything. This is dc3 and dont recall anything like this with first 2. Does anyone else have this or have an idea what it could be?
I dont see mw till 28 wks but there are drop ins in my local area but none till tuesday which i will go to but was hoping for some advice prior to then.

Definitely get in contact with your mw or a professional Peace if it is persistent. Congratulations though, hope your pg isn't making you suffer too much Thanks

Thanks for reply k8eee, seems im alone in having this which is a bit more worrying. This pg has actually been pretty easy going so far so apart from this pain im not doing to bad, touch wood. I will be going to the mw drop in tomorrow which will hopfully help.

Hi OP just want to reassure you. I have this but am almost 38 weeks. Have had it a while and I think it's a pulled muscle in my case. Baby is also stuck up in ribs which isn't helping. Though at 23 weeks I'm not sure what it could be. Could you have twisted in your sleep or something and pulled a muscle?

Pinkbell123 · 18/11/2013 11:06

I have this but on my right side. I'm 27 weeks now and it started a few weeks ago with a weird tingling/pain feeling. Now it's definitely sore and feels like a muscle pain when I poke it. I get most of my big kicks too right side so I'm guessing its to do wih the baby's position.

Thanks for replies ladies. Em, its sort of come on gradually and got worse so im not sure about if i pulled it, i dont recall doing anything diff but i could have done and not realised. Pink, this pain is sort of burny/achy- hard to describe exactly, but i know if it carries on for the duration it wont be nice as i have to stand for 12 hours during my shifts at work, and thats when its worse.
It is reassuring to know im not alone though and you both are further along and all is ok, thanks. I think its the knowledge that the placenta is at the front playing on my mind as well and its not like anything i had the last times. Sometimes i think the less we know the less we can worry about!

I used to get this with my first peace. Or atleast something similar by the sounds of it. It's really uncomfortable and for me sometimes felt tingly, burny an itchy. The midwife told me it was to do with nerves stretching as your bump grows. Definately get checked out though just incase:) x

Cariad007 · 18/11/2013 12:42

I sometimes have a stabbing pain on my right side, just below my breast - I assumed it was my ribs expanding but will mention it to the midwife at my appointment this week. I've noticed it always comes on when I'm at work and sat at my desk all day but I don't have it at weekends. So could be my posture too.

Pinkbell123 · 18/11/2013 12:45

Yes mine is a burning feeling and sometimes a weird crawling sensation. It's worse when I bend over so squish my bump a bit. I think a nerve sounds likely. Baby is still moving fine though so I'd try not to worry x
