Anyone tried this method? I always said I'd never do it.

I'm nearly 2 weeks over and at my wits end, my back feels like it's breaking and I'm throwing up with the acid reflux 10+ times a day.

I've tried EVERYTHING else, foods, sex, walking, foot zoning etc and really want to avoid going into hospital as I'm terrified of the interventions and I could do without a $50,000+ bill.

I know that it can be really messy and vile but I'm actually past caring now.

Sorry, I can't help you here but $50,000??? So much for the land of the free :(

wouldn't do it.
might result in baby in observation due to meconium aspiration which is also very expensive.

remember, you are only over when you are past 42 weeks. walking is muc more sensible.

Don't do it!
Have you tried nipple stimulation with breast pump?
Ideally while on bouncy ball.

No no no no no!

I did it. I know it is very controversial but I weighed everything up and decided to give it a go. We were overseas, I was overdue with DS1 and facing induction, but not the sort offered here. My consultant had a c section rate of 70%. My mum's a midwife and was there - I had tried everything. I was quite happy waiting as long as everything was fine but he wasn't. I took a small amount at 3:30pm, went to the toilet at 7:30pm and very gentle
contractions started at 10pm. He was born at 8pm the next day - lovely, calm birth which influenced my subsequent births. Consultant kept trying to intervene (heart rate was fine, no mention of distress or anything, he just wanted me to speed up) thank goodness DH and mum were there. People have a very marmite reaction to this one but I really do think it depends on your circumstances. I would absolutely do it again when faced with the alternative I was faced with. Hopefully not an issue now though as we've moved :) Good luck.

Tried walking, nipple stimulation, everything. I know I'm not over until after 42 weeks but at that point I won't face induction like I would in the UK it will be as previous poster pointed out and the obgyn I'll have has an 86% section rate.

I'm being called irresponsible and selfish for letting it get to 42 weeks, it's seen by most people here as way over term. Remember, most Mums here start get sweeps at 37 weeks and induced by 39.

I wouldn't consider this in the UK but healthcare in the States is very different and I see going into hospital as a slippery slope to c section.
