If found please return to me c/o Mumsnet asap. Blush

Is it just me?! Please tell me I'm not alone?

I'm 17 weeks pregnant with DC2, and I'll admit I've probably not been vigilant doing my pelvic floor exercises. I've noticed a slight leaking when sneezing or leaving it too late before rushing to the toilet, however this incident half an hour ago takes the biscuit.

Was cooking tea and found myself feeling sick, I've not been sick for two weeks so thought I was over it. When to the toilet and knelt down in the "sick" position and was violently sick but also wet myself because the force was that powerful Blush

Thankfully I could just whip off my bottoms, wipe myself up and get a new pair out. What if I was out in public Shock am I going to have to buy some tena lady pads and keep spare knickers in my handbag for the next 24 weeks (or possibly forever??!) I'm only 34 sobs

Please cheer me up with your stories. Grin

You're not alone. I don't remember this from my first pregnancy, not sure if it's pregnancy amnesia or a second baby thing.

Yes, not pleasant whilst being sick.

Thing is, I've always had a strong bladder and could go for hours without peeing but now a short sneezing fit sets me off.

I keep trying to remember my exercises but I'm starting to feel like it's pointless until after the baby is born.

I don't recall having it in my first pregnancy either but after DS was born I did struggle a little bit and then it improved vastly; but I still go to the toilet more often than I used to.

Another joy of pregnancy hey?!

I would've thought that with the force of throwing up it would be quite common even for someone who wasn't pregnant to wet themselves just a little bit!

boring voice of reason

It's worth doing your pelvic floor exercises pre-birth. Your baby uses the resistance of your pelvic floor to turn and maintain the right angle-of-dangle during labour and birth. It's part of the reason epidurals slow labour down - you lose pelvic tone, so your baby has less trampoline-type resistance to use to make its way into the outside world.

That's probably quite garbled, so short answer: they're worth doing, keep at it. And don't worry about the occasional accident, you do afterall have an entire person jumping about on it...

I'm 15 weeks with my first pregnancy. I sneezed today and some wee came out. HORRIFIED doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. I had NO IDEA. No one warned me. I'm not ready for this (also posted my own thread before I read this one, but glad I'm not alone!).
