Swimming siuts, bikinis, tankinis...

Hi guys. So I'm 7 and 4 weeks and have decided to start swimming (usually do yoga on my own but I'm soooo paranoid about MC I don't trust myself!) .

The only swimsuit I have is a tummy tuck one. I only have a tiny bloaty bump but don't know if wearing this will cause any discomfort or damage. Otherwise, this early on, should I get a normal swim suit? Would a bikini or tankini be supportive enough?

Is it too early to get a pregnancy suit? I hear they grow with you but I don't know if there would be too much excess fabric at this point.

I feel silly, its such a small thing, but don't know what to do!

(I first read the title as 'swimming sluts' Hmm ) You can fit into an ordinary swimsuit for quite a lot of your pregnancy, as long as it's stretchy. To be honest, I can't tell much of a difference between my maternity one and my normal one apart from the maternity one is brand new (I'm 32weeks).

You can do pilates - youtube videos are great, and can show you what to do in certain stages of pregnancy. :) And it's great for preparing you for birth.

am 30 weeks and still wearing my normal swimsuit if need be ill go up a suit size. as long as ur swimsuit is comfortable itll be grand. i was doing spinning, boxercise and aerobics til i was 12 weeks and have been deceasing impact since. some yoga teachers will adapt to suit your pregnancy needs. oh and congrats!Grin

Oh no, my typo does make it look like sluts! Should draw attention to the post, Lol! I'll maybe see how I get on with the one I have now. Great idea about Pilate's, I hadn't thought of that! Thanks :)

I bought a maternity swimsuit at 18 weeks and it's still fitting now at 37+6.

Just a thought though, not sure if you've given much consideration to your birthing plan but I'm planning a water birth and the mw just said the best thing is swimwear rather than a baggy tshirt etc so if you're investing in new swimwear it might be worth thinking about because if you do want a water birth a 2 piece would be best and you can use it on the day as well as through the pregnancy Smile

I don't think your tummy tuck suit can squish anything because your pregnancy is still below your pubic bone at this point :)
