Maternity suits/suit jackets

Nowhere seems to sell these!

I have a job where I have to wear at suit and can't just get away with a smart dress. At the very least I need suit jacket to put with dress or maternity trousers, as can just about get away with unmatching in pregnancy.

Anyone know where to buy this? Should I just go for a couple of sizes up and never mind the bad fit?

I've been wearing my existing suit jacket, but an undone jacket is a bit of a no-no in my job (really) and I need something that fits!

I was going to suggest a normal jacket undone, sorry? What about ones that aren't part of a suit set. e.g. I have a smart grey linen jacket I wear over a black dress.

Topshop had a black maternity blazer a couple of weeks ago. Isabella Oliver does one too, expensive, but sounds like it might be a necessity for you!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention it has to be black! I will have a look at topshop, thanks.

Boo - no more in topshop. Will check out Isabella Oliver.

Have you tried Crave Maternity? I got a suit from there a couple of years ago

Try Slacks & Co for work wear. Expensive but you can ebay after.

I found a black suit a couple of months ago, with huge relief, at Blossom Mother and Child (massively, massively reduced in their summer sale - bought before 20 weeks, so a gamble but has fitted OK) but they only have a brown suit jacket now and it is expensive. IO or Crave might have something, as others have suggested.

With hindsight I could actually have got a normal jacket in a bigger size and had it altered by a dressmaker/tailor (not as ruinously expensive to do as I thought), though it depends how and where you put weight on. But I know people who have done this and looked great. And you'd have more choice.

I think most people do wear existing jackets open over dresses etc, even where dress codes are very smart. I have done this, including to court, and had no problem, so it seems very unfair that you are so limited at work with regard to what's "acceptable" :-(

I second Seraphine. Based on a mn recommendation I got some workwear from there, including a jacket, and am very pleased with it.

YY to Seraphine. Crave sell some nice things but their service is no where near as good as Seraphine. Their returns policy is rubbish in terms of turn around time.

Don't forget to look after your feet (gosh, you can tell I'm already someone's Mum can't you?!) as wearing smart heels in later pregnancy is tough. Last time I had to get some wider fit for the final trimester as they were getting so sore.
