Hi I'm not pregnant but would love a 3rd dc, I worked until 7months with my first but that was very part time

This time my wage is very important to the family budget so I need to be able to work out roughly how long I can keep going ;)

My plan is to try and have the baby around november when it's reasonably quiet and won't effect many people if I take time off but this year I was really busy september and now I'm wondering about timings ( obvs this I if I can still get pregnant ! )

anyway just wondered if there was any gardeners out there with stories to share ?

think it really depends on u, I Work outside walking in countryside surveying. I'm beginning to slow down at 23 weeks and being more cautious about lifting, stretching and balance. Do u have to do any spraying? There may be issues with contact with chemicals

I'm not a gardener but I am self employed and provide the majority of the family income. Am pregnant with my third which was timed for a relatively quiet time. But you know what it's like, no time is perfect. I've just realised that although it took a few months to get pregnant, I'm still a month or too early for optimum income maximisation. (Due in May, late July would have been better so I could take 6 weeks off over summer)

But then you never know with this stuff! You just make do and crack on, hoping for the best. No time is great if you are self employed.

Not a gardener but if I was I would check if I had immunity to toxoplasmosis - not sure if you can get it on NHS pre-conceiving but they will test at your check in if you ask.

I have a big garden which we get most of our food from in the Summer/Autumn. Is was all going great until acid reflux basically meant I couldn't garden. The bending over was impossible.

Just something to think about. :)

As long as you wear gloves the toxoplasmosis won't be a problem. I have five cats so was very aware!

Bummy I have found during my first tri that the thought of vegetables, and therefore gardening to produce them, has made my nausea much worse. Hence I've shut down my vege garden by covering in winter manure and horse shit.

Thanks for the response ! There are no chemicals involved in my job, I am a head gardener 2 days and have other private work and garden design, no machinery either.

I guess that the reflux would be a problem as with dc 2 it was bad. But then maybe if I leave ttc till march I can get the summer out of the way. Thanks guys that's helped, if we conceive later then I'll just have to deal with it.

I am pretty fit but I remember how shocking pregnancy makes you feel and I didn't work much during dc2 pregnancy as we moved areas, I've built up my business now so it's a different story.

Suzietwo mushrooms made me want to vom last time, pregnancy is strange hey

As for toxoplasmosis I would ask for a test when I get my midwife, I wear gloves but I still get muddy hands somehow !

Oh FFS!

I'm about to put my garden to bed too.

It gets a lot colder here (-8 already last night) so I'll cover everything in horse shit and seaweed in the next week.

Be a relief to have it behind me and not feel guilty for the first time in months.
