How early can you get spd

I have had spd in each previous pregnancy, and really want to be careful this time such as when getting in my bike etc. I'm 9 weeks, I don't know if I'm being too cautious worrying this early.
Does anyone know when you have to start being careful?

I would start being careful now. I have been getting twinges from 7 weeks now very sore at end of each day and only 15 weeks. Got it at 26 weeks last time.

Hi there, first pregnancy I got it at 14/15 weeks, this time round my existing back problem flared up at 10 weeks and SPD arrived with full force last week at 36 weeks. Feel lucky to have made it this far, but am in agony now and mat physio can't see me for another week. So worried about taking painkillers every day. I was told the hormones act right from the start, so although you probably havn't gained any weight yet you can still be affected with SPD really early on. Hope you don't get it this time.x

Def got twinges very early on with subsequent pregnancies.

I would look at finding an osteopath qualified to treat during pregnancy - made a huge difference to me - was able to walk without crutches post treatment.

Also prevention is better than cure with SPD, so no lugging toddler around on hip, lots of strenuous walking, kicking a ball etc.

I would start being careful now. I'm almost 11 weeks with DC2 and had very bad spd with ds from about 18 weeks. The pains and cracking sounds started this week and I slept with a hot water bottle on my lower back last night. Spd just sucks...

I had it from 8 weeks first pregnancy, so this time around was very careful from the beginning and managed to hold it off till 16-20 weeks, has started getting more severe now I've hit 30 weeks. I definitely think the less you do to aggravate it the better from as early as possible.

I had it from about 15 weeks throughout my first pregnancy

With my second it started much earlier (6/7 weeks)but actually subsided at around 30 weeks

So far not too bad this pregnancy. 11 weeks and if I hadn't had it before I would just think I had a normal pregnancy related sore back. But it's noticeably starting I think.

I think mine did get earlier with each pg (sorry - I doubt that's what you wanted to hear).

I'd star being careful straight away. It might not make much difference, but OTOH it might. Take everything as gently and smoothly as you can. Get an early physio referral if you can. And consider Alexander technique (movement with least impact) and getting a maternity belt too.
