Diarrhea and pain at 35 weeks?

Hi all,
Just need a little reassurance really, baby was quite happily stretching across my bump when I got a kind of sudden pain quite low inside of me right through my back, it brought tears to my eyes but only lasted about 30 seconds.
I've had terrible diarrhea all day too, thought it was just a relatives cooking (sorry tmi) but its lasted much longer than anything like that and I have no stomach pain?
Any ideas?

I'd call the midwife. they can advise you better.

it might be nothing, might be "pre-labour/early labour)

good luck!

Thank you! I feel silly calling since I've had no more pain, still passing a lot of stools though...may wait till morning and keep my fingers crossed she stays put...

how far are you?

the loose stools can also be a sign of impending labour, in fact not only a lot of women have this (it's like the body is preparing) but bowel movement can stimulate the womb muscles and kick off contractions!

(hence the whole eat curry/pineapples/prunes malarkey. there's some truth in these "old wives tales")

I'd call the midwife just to check and make sure, but I've had both of the things you've talked about.

The pain thing I had something similar at 31weeks and this week (33weeks) I've had the bowels from hell with pain, cramping and diarrhoea. I think it's a bug to be honest as peppermint tea, some rest etc has helped but I have been feeling pretty crappy. Saw my midwife today and she didn't indicate any problems-although I'm not suggesting you're the same.

A quick call should put your mind at ease :)
