Constant rock hard bump, discomfort/pain, hard to feel movements, worried

Hi
I'm 34 weeks, have been having Braxton Hicks quite strongly now for a week or so, but what worries me is they are constant. Today I felt a tightening of the uterus at about 1 pm and it didn't go down until about 7.30 pm AT ALL. During this time I find it very hard to feel ANY foetal movement - it is as if babs is locked in under a hard glass dome and I can't feel her! One bout of hiccups but she felt a million miles away.

Had this feeling on Thursday all day, went to get checked out at hospital at 5 pm, was admitted overnight after lots of 'uterine activity' seen on the monitor. They did the swab that checks the cervix for the labour chemical, all negative, cervix closed, midwives and doctor nice and reassuring, but I felt I didn't ask all the right questions. They said it is a kind of braxton hicks and not to worry, would prob continue rest of pregnancy, get lots of rest.

Rang them again tonight - doc said to come in if not better after paracetamol - it is a bit better and more baby movement felt, but I would just love to hear from anyone else who has experienced a CONSTANT tightening sensation and pain (seriously, for five hours, and not just frequent braxton hicks. Did you worry about not feeling baby move?

Thank you!

I can't really say anything to help apart from that I have the same feelings, although not as bad - I'm 30 weeks, and get the feeling sometimes of a constant hardening. Like my tummy has become a brick (and I'm meant to have an anterior placenta..) Baby also has quiet days - seems to be Saturdays for some reason... Hmm
Have you been taking the paracetamol? If so, and it is still like this, then go back to the hospital, after all you did right that's what the doctor told you should do.

if you dont feel any movements for 2 hours i would get checked out at maternity. keep going if necessary. better safe than sorry.

Please go and get it checked

That's what the hospital staff are there for xx

Best of luck

Are you drinking enough water? Even slight dehydration can cause frequent BH' s, check your urine is a pale straw colour. I'm 33 weeks and find it difficult to drink enough but if I get even slightly dehydrated I get loads of BH' s, not constant like yours though but frequent and regular. I second going back and getting checked, as often as it takes to reassure you.
