Long haul flight and varicose veins!

I'll be coming back to the UK next week and will be 21 weeks pregnant by then. I've recently developed varicose veins behind one leg. I did use flight socks coming over a week ago but am wondering whether it's a good idea to wear them while having varicose veins? Will they aggravate the veins?

If you've developed one varicose vein then I would say it's even more important to use your flight socks on your return flight. I have bad veins in my legs and flew long haul during my second trimester. Doctor not only stressed the importance of compression stockings but also gave me Clexane to help thin the blood. Mine are terrible though, not just one vein.
Have a good flight!

Sorry, meant varicose veins on one leg, not one vein!

I suffer really bad varicose veins and someone on here suggested getting tights and leggings from pebblesuk They are fab and I would totally recommend them. If I haven't worn either the tights or leggings for a day, my legs look shocking, so I put a pair on every day. (I quite vain and don't want them for the rest of my life!) I'm flying longhaul in a few weeks too so will be wearing my tight! (They are also much nicer than the stocking the midwife gave me)

Fairy, that website is great Smile I've been looking for some knee high support socks to save me having to struggle into the full length stockings. Thanks for posting it!

Thanks for the recommendation Fairy. Will defo get those leggings and tights when I get back to the UK. At the mo the (thankfully) one patch of veins behind one knee throbs and is really painful to touch if I've been standing/walking for even short times. Will be great to get some relief! Hoping they will go after the birth?
