Fetal movements

I've posted about this before when I was a bit earlier on, sorry if I seem paranoid :(
Baby doesn't move a lot during the day, I work in a retail so am constantly moving around most of the time so I just assume I don't notice/he's rocked to sleep. I'm 27+1 and have an anterior placenta.
Last night I got a few small gentle movements, almost like he was facing the other way.
It's just occurred to me maybe I should be worried - I didn't feel him at all this morning. I can't do the lying on my side for 2 hours thing as I have to go to work now.
Do babies patterns of movements tend to change?

Hi - Ida m not sure about placenta placement but I know one type make more of a difference to feeling movements. I find mine moves most in the morning and evening and not much in the day (doesn't bode well for sleeping patterns) usually when i'm not moving myself.

Still lots of room at 27 weeks for turning round into all sorts of positions.
Try drinking something cold & fizzy and if you can sit still for a bit. But if that doesn't start anything then give your Mw a call

Yes patterns of movement can change from day to day. Try these to see if you can get baby moving...eat/drink something sugary, drink very cold water, jump up and down a few times to wake him, crouch to squash him a bit, prod him to see if he'll kick back.

Being on the move all day means you're unlikely to feel movements. 10 in a 12 hour period is normal but if you're worried, go and get yourself checked out. MWs are very open to this and it's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

Hi chocolate, it's the anterior placenta that makes movement harder to feel, mines right in the middle of the front wall so I didn't feel anything at all until 22 weeks. My baby is the same as yours, he tends to move more when I'm not moving

ive an anterior placenta as well and find at times i have to concentrate and relax to feel movement. my babys pattern keeps changing i just focus on movement now. i also find she'll have quieter days than others and then the next day shes stronger than ever Smile

I'm 25 weeks and I can't feel him kicking if I'm walking etc, only when I'm sat down. I find he kicks like mad if I lie flat on my back, maybe try this for a minute? Also if I drink hot tea or iced drink he will respond. He's probably just moved into a comfortable position where you can't feel him so much Smile but as others have said ring your MW if your worried.

Anterior placenta restricts the amount of movements you feel, babies also sometimes have a routine, mine does he doesn't move in a morning but after dinner time he is wriggling about. Also if you are up and about you will not notice as much movement as your busy and the baby is being rocked and that usually settles them. as you get further on you will feel more, it's only natural to worry Smile

I felt both DS's loads, with DD I had an anterior placenta and felt very little movement, I was also never still chasing after her brothers!

If concerned though I always phoned midwife and was monitored and they were always happy to do this.
