I'm 5 weeks today, and yesterday evening and this morning my legs and hips feel really stiff. I'm panicking because I got really bad PGP in my first pregnancy at about 16 weeks and struggled through the rest of the pregnancy. I remember the early stages of it feeling like this.

I have been doing my usual exercise this week - an hour's kickboxing (NOT sparring I hasten to add!) on Tues and then had an hour's tennis lesson at lunch yesterday. I don't usually do tennis, but I'm used to running about etc. so shouldn't have affected my legs?

Please tell me I'm not consigned to 8 months of hell.... sob.

I got it at 20 weeks last pregnancy and from about 7 weeks this time have started getting pain and twinges so taking it easy and doing everything to try and avoid pain now I'm 14 weeks and it alphas not got much worse using avoidance tactics so hopefully I can keep it at bay for as long as possible.

Hope it it works for you McBaby, have you seen a physio?

Sorry, mine started then! It's been on & off with a dodgy hip but a sore back was why I did my test.... Pubic bone hitting now at 18 weeks. I'm expecting a rough ride for the rest of my pregnancy...

Nooooo tsw! Thinking I might give the docs a ring if it hadn't eased up by the morning. Have suspicion it is the dreaded pgp. Reflexology helped me a lot last time, might be worth a try?

Give it a go - I haven't bothered thus far.

I played tennis a few times when I was in early pregnancy with my first and got it from 8 weeks, think the twisting motion brought on the pgp even though it was a gentle knock around.

This time round it didn't come on badly until 16-20 weeks, mainly I think because I reduced activity pre-emptively from early on, really only walking and trying to generally avoid things that make it worse.

I'm now 30 weeks and still relatively mobile, can still walk a bit, carry toddler when necessary, get round the shops etc. I have crutches to help take the strain off on days out.

It's still pretty miserable but it is manageable.

I have a physio appointment in a couple if weeks but I didn't find it helpful last time.

This week has been better I just have to take it easy. I think I walked to much on Tuesday after a very busy few days away so I was in agony on Tuesday night. So it going to be a gentle six months for me.
