Anyone pregnant / had a baby after previous IUGR pregnancy?

Hello,

My DS was delivered at 27weeks by EMCS due to a failing placenta causing severe IUGR. He was 1lb 7ozs. He's 7months now (4corrected) and doing well.

I never found out the reason for the issue with the placenta. Everything was fine at the 20weeks scan, but by 27 weeks the flow of the placenta was very poor. I had a meeting with an obstestrician about 2 months after DS was born, and she recommended I be on aspirin and heparin for any subsequent pregnancies. I was tested for thrombophilia but it came back negative.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? And has anyone gone on to have other DCs? I'm definitely not thinking of TTC imminently but I don't know how confident I should feel about the being able to get further next time.

Thanks

Nowhere near as severe as you but I had diagnosed with pre-eclampsia at 30 weeks and my DS had an IUGR. I was induced at 37+2 and he just tipped 5lb.

I had no problems at all with my second pregnancy and DD was born without help at 42 weeks, weighing just over 8lb. I was under consultant-led care throughout my pregnancy and they kept a close eye on how the baby was growing.

I had pre-eclampsia and HELP in my first pregnancy and ds had IUGR, all related. He was born at 37 weeks emcs as soon as my midwife realised that there was a problem. He was 4lb 6oz

I had dd 2.5 weeks ago. During this pregnancy I was advised to take low dose asprin and I saw a consultant regularly for growth scans. The same problems did not come back this time and she was born at 40+5 weighing 7lb 5.

Thanks for the replies. Am glad to hear the same problems did not reoccur in your next pregnancies. Congratulations on your new baby greensunrise
