Hello just looking for any relevant experience or advice here.
I'm just over 36 weeks pregnant and for the last week or so have had horrible almost diahorrea when I go to the loo although am not going loads of times a day (possibly because I'm also on iron tablets!). I don't think this is a precursor to labour and I don't have a fever etc but just wondered if others have had this as a result of baby position/kicking or if its more likely to be a bug?
Thank you in advance for reading this delightful post!

Ooh Southern, you have my sympathy, it's not overly pleasant is it? Thank you for replying.
I didn't get it with my first pregnancy at all (then it was just the straightforward cork in bottom side effect of iron tablets! Charming eh? Grin

A shameless bump. Anyone else got any thoughts on my not very exciting problem?!

Me! From about 34 to 37 weeks I had awful diarrhoea. I'm now 38+2 and it seems to have settled. I thought it was something to do with the baby pressing on bowel because I certainly didn't feel ill. Hope it stops soon for you, it isn't pleasant x

Oh thank you. I'm scaring myself with thought that labour is imminent but I've actually had this for at least a week now and apparently am not even engaged (also supposed to be having c section due to slight issues last time so really don't want to go into labour at all if possible!)

That'll be some such hormones playing around with your bowels. I'm 35+1 and have had it on an off for a couple of weeks.

My theory is its the baby pressing on your bowels, so you don't have a chance to reabsorb the water, so its looser. I'm 35+5 and have the same in the mornings.

Ladies, thank you for your responses. Hope it gets better for you soon - it certainly isn't a glamorous business is it?!

I think its likely to be something to do with baby pressing on a nerve.

I've actually got the opposite problem and am painfully bunged up but also keep getting awful shooting pains up my bum Blush along with a pain down my leg which makes sitting on the loo agony ... I think it must be nerve related, I guess they are just pressing on everything in there at this stage!

No one mentions these lovely things to you do they!!

Ooh Pink ouch! The leg and bum pain (if its bum cheek?) sound like sciatica. Have had that too. Get up in middle of night for loo stop and feel like entire left bottom cheek and leg are in a spasm. I swear its all this having to sleep on one the left side business..
