8 weeks pregnant.

I have felt sick since 4 weeks. At 6 weeks it progressed to being sick. It's now more or less constant - I am sick maybe once or twice a day but the nausea is constant. I also frequently go through the motion of retching, gagging, belching, but without anything actually coming out of me.

Exhaustion, that feels like it has a life and an identify of its own. Can't focus on anything much.

Never seem to stop shitting Hmm

Hair a mess. Skin a mess. Clothes don't fit. Sad, lonely, worn out, tired, sick, ill, ill ILL.

Help. Tell me it ends! Grin

Welcome to pregnancy!!

MinkyWinky · 28/10/2013 11:42

It miraculously stopped the day I got to 12 weeks for me, so fingers crossed it's the same for you:-)

panicmechanic · 28/10/2013 12:03

Hi, I am exactly the same... The fridge is the devil as I gag as soon as I open it. Sickness wakes me in the middle of the night. I am only 6 weeks and last time it went on until week 13 :/

WhisperMen · 28/10/2013 12:16

ahh I remember the first trimester well. try little meals or even a biscuit every hour or so and don't let yourself get hungry. it was the only thing that made it any better for me

Miraculously stopped for me at 12 weeks too!

Then I entered the lovely pregnant months where you feel great and everyone's nice to you, you start to feel the baby moving and it's an unbelievably incredible time.

Hope the crappy bit passes for you very soon, you've got an incredible journey ahead.

DeMaz · 28/10/2013 13:05

It's awful, I know. Been through it twice but once you enter 2nd Tri, it all becomes a distant memory....

marzipanned · 28/10/2013 13:08

Pah. It went on til 20 weeks for me and I am still puking most days at 26 weeks. My fingers are crossed for you that it ends at 12 weeks, but don't be downhearted if it doesn't (I got my hopes up at 12 weeks, 14 weeks, 16 weeks... then gave up. But the latter half of 2nd tri has been immeasurably better than previous months.)

ZingWantsCake · 28/10/2013 13:11

it will end.

if you are lucky it will end in 5 weeks

if you are unlucky it will end in 7 months.Wink

I always found between 8-11 weeks the worst (6 kids here)

Congratulations btw!Thanks

cantthinkofagoodone · 28/10/2013 13:13

It stopped at 16 weeks for me BUT it wasn't as bad as the 8 week mark before then.

Carry a packet of ginger nut biscuits on you at all times.

daughterofafarmer · 28/10/2013 13:16

It will pass...then you'll be up several times a night to pee, not to forget the heartburn Grin

It's utterly pants, I feel for you. 28 wks here and I was horribly ill too for the 1st 10 wks or so.

Madamecastafiore · 28/10/2013 13:17

Am due on 15th November. Have fab thick glossy hair, glowing skin and string nails.

I do although have the biggest bags under my eyes and am sick at least once every night during the night. Heave when brushing teeth too and need a wee at least every 20 minutes!

Let's hope you one of the lucky ones who feel better before the birth of your baby!

thecakeisalie · 28/10/2013 13:19

I'm 18wks now with dc3 and it mostly stopped at 16wks for me this time. Still queasy from time to time and been sick once but so much better than constant nausea and being sick daily!

It does pass but it feels like forever when you feel rubbish all the time. I just remind myself its worth it in the end!

Winglet · 28/10/2013 13:40

Hey there, I'm 8+1 and I feel your pain Sad

I feel like I want to projectile vomit all the time. Except, I've only actually been sick a handful of times even though this has been going on for about 3 weeks now.

Tired, can't concentrate and the only think that gives me any relief is eating. Read that a lot of people don't put on any weight in the first 12 weeks. I've put on about 6lbs already. Normal??

The thing about the toilet habits are the opposite for me. I was always good in that department, now not much movement at all...

Glad most of the other posters said there is light at the end of the tunnel!

LightTripper · 28/10/2013 13:57

8-10 weeks were the worst for me. Then improved a bit I think just as I learned to deal with it a bit better (eating more protein and small frequent meals and going to be stupidly early), rather than because it was actually getting better.

I then had a real step up just after 12 weeks (still felt sick all the time, and still throwing up most days - but had a pretty good period in the middle of each day - like being on a boat in the harbour, rather than in a stormy sea - and was able to go home from work at a normal time rather than having to flee at 4pm or spend the rest of my day retching into the bin). My "must be horizontal or you will throw up" hour moved quite suddenly from 5-6pm to 7-8pm, which really helped. I've also found for special occasions I can push it a bit later than that if I sleep in the afternoon. There is usually a price to pay when I get home and the next day, but it's nice to sometimes leave the house in the evenings (armed with ginormo pack of rich tea biscuits) - feels like I got a little bit of my life back.

I'm now at 14 and a bit weeks and it's kind of a plateau at that level: but I feel much better about it because I now feel I could cope even if it carried on like this until the end (obviously I would not be happy, but I could cope) - whereas at 8-10 weeks I didn't feel like that at all.

Everybody's seems to be different - but my friends experiences generally range between 12-20 weeks as an end point, with most in the 12-16 range (but those who went on until 20 generally saw some improvement before then, so at least you hopefully will get the feeling at some point it is going in the right direction). My Mum's finished at around 16 weeks, so I am braced for another couple of weeks before it really clears up.

Have you seen the website pregnancy sickness support? There is good advice there on drugs if you need them, and also a useful forum and a good collection of research: worth a look! It isn't just for HG sufferers, it's good for normal "bad" pregnancy sickness too.

Hang on in there...

P.S. and the pooing and loneliness bit I totally get. Hard if the evenings are your worst time and your OH is at work in the day - can't even phone people for support because either they don't know or they're at work too. I know this will sound crazy, because when I was at 8 weeks even 12 weeks away seemed for ever, but if you can manage to get lots of sleep although it will be very dull and depressing the next month really will go quite quickly and then you can look forward to the good bit (although I have to say, although I am a lot better than I was, I am still waiting hopefully for the "blooming" bit!)
