Hi, so.... I have a nearly 7 year old daughter, when I fell pregnant with her I was really young, 17, I knew straight away. Ive always had really unreliable periods, they have never been regular until a year or so ago when I stopped smoking, I started again and got irregular periods again, 20 weeks ago I stopped smoking for good but my periods havent re started, to be honest im sick of saying to my fiance of 5 years that I think I could be pregnant, there have been a few times I have thought so but never have been.
Now I just have that feeling again, I haven't had a period in over 20 weeks, I have really sore and itchy boobs, I keep getting bad gas, im aching a lot in my legs and back,I have felt really really nauseous for about a week but never been sick, headaches are ridiculous and im peeing and pooping so much more frequently, sorry for the too much info.
can anyone help me, I feel like im the only one with these horribly irregular periods but my doctor seems to shrug it off. Im sick of feeling pregnant but never actually being. We arent particularly trying for a baby but would be both more than happy and totally ready for another.
thanks in advance for any replies

princesscupcakemummyb · 26/10/2013 20:55

Hayleysmummy · 26/10/2013 21:20

Thanks, I just meant I'm hoping that other people have had similar experiences or something. I dont know really, im just sick of getting worked up and excited then finding it was just a waste of money. That sounds really blunt but I dont know how else to say it.

You could be, the only way you will know for sure would be to test, if I were in your situation I would buy the cheep internet ones where you get quite a few tests for next to nothing then if it is just a long cycle atleast your not spending loads.
20 weeks seems like a long time to go without a period , even for someone who has irregular periods,

If its what you want I hope you are, keep us posted x

You can get tests from the 99p store now or test at a doctor's for free so no need to worry about the cost.

Casmama · 28/10/2013 15:29

Many doctors won't test you these days- they take your word for it as home pregnancy tests are so reliable.

I don't mean to be unkind but did you honestly expect someone to say "yes you are definitely pregnant, I had all those symptoms too?"

You've had a baby before so you understand how pregnancy tests work- go to the pound shop then POAS.

eurochick · 28/10/2013 15:55

You really need to POAS.

Or as I once saw suggested on here on a similar thread, "why don't you wee on your keyboard and see if the internet tells you you are pregnant"...

Hawkmoth · 28/10/2013 15:59

You can get biscuits from the pound shop at the same time.

The one and only definite symptom of pregnancy is the bit when you go into labour and push a baby out. Absolutely everything else can be caused by other things. Even labour pains could be a particularly bad water infection. The only 100% certain test without having to wait 40 weeks or so is seeing a baby on the screen during a scan. So personally I'd stop stressing yourself out, buy a couple of cheap tests and wee on them for a pretty bloody accurate answer.
