Support belt for bladder and pelvic pressure?

Over the last few days walking is becoming a bit of a struggle. I'm 33weeks, baby is head down and quite low, and constantly headbutting my bladder and pelvis!

I have a wee, then ten minutes later I'm atruggling to walk again, feeling like I need to wee and its really uncomfy and quite painful in the pelvic region. No urine infection, just baby's position!

Has anyone used a support belt with sucess for this? What type of belt did you get? It sounds like it might help, but I don't want it to put even more pressure on that region, nor affect the babmbino if its on tightly x

That there's three different issues:

  1. baby is low (not engaged, right?) so headbutting your bladder
  2. difficulty walking - have you got some spd?
  3. urinary frequency - kind of comes with the territory, but, there are things that can help. Best cure is having the baby - but you'll need to hang onto yours for a few weeks yet!

Get your MW to refer you to a physio. They'll sort you out with a proper belt, some walking aids, check to see whether you've got a mild prolapse, and show you how to do your pelvic floor exercises.

I'm a physio, and I have a couple of belts here. Happy to send you them for you to trial if you PM me your address. Often with these things it's a matter of seeing what fits and is comfy. But, there's nothing better than having someone actually have a look at your badly-behaved bits.

Thanks so much for the responses...I was referred to the physio at 8 weeks (!) and am still waiting an appointment, so I'll chase that up. I had terrible sciatica back then and have knee problems as well so was referred for that but this is the more ”pressing" issue...excuse the pun! The Nexcare belt has got really good reviews, i'll look into that if my physio appt isn't forthcoming.

The mere word prolapse sends shivers down my spine so hope it isn't that! At least the end is in sight, and I finish work in three weeks so I won't have to move around as much!
