I think it's karma, as I am 33 weeks and had a really easy pregnancy up to no, but oh my goodness is the universe getting its revenge now! For the last 4 days I have been in agony in my left hip- suspect from trying to sleep mainly on my left side. The only thing that helped was sitting up really straight or bouncing on my birthing ball, so I did that a lot.

Except all the sitting and bouncing has resulted in monstrous haemorrhoids, which have had my in tears for pretty much the last 36 hours. Tried all the over the counter remedies, but so far no joy. And as I waddled to the chemist earlier today, John Wayne style, to buy some Germaloids cream, the baby flipped over, wedged self on my bladder, and I promptly wet myself Shock Blush

I have spent the rest of the day at home, moaning in pain over my poor, sore bottom, and shame at my incontinence. Tell me it won't be like this for the whole of the next seven weeks, please!

You poor thing :( big hug
If it makes you feel better I have had morning sickness since wk 10, currently 39 +4 and still suffering and sometimes I vomit so viciously I wet myself at the same time.
My hips are currently trying to kill me, I'm sure of it, I am in agony when I sleep on either side and when I go for a walk and even when I sit for too long!!!
Hope u feel better soon, thought I would share so u don't feel so alone xx

Excited2meetmyprincess · 23/10/2013 16:56

Hope u are ok! They don't tell you all these lovely things before we get pregnant!!
I am 36 weeks and feel like crap!! I have SPD, the most horrendous heartburn and keep getting horrific stabbing pains in my lady bits!! It has now gotten to the point were I only go out to go to midwife appointments and have started to feel like a prisoner in my own home lol.
So it's not just you that feels crappy!! But it still doesn't help does it!! Sending u big hugs and hoping u feel better soon x

Thank you ladies- misery really does love company! How you both feel better soon too. This pregnancy business really isn't much fun, is it?!

Ridiculous thing is, I had all this with my DS, but had forgotten how painful it was. DH is under strict instructions to remind me, with all the gory details, if I ever suggest DC3!

Haha this is my first and I have told DH that it is also the last!! Although I am sure in a few years I will have forgotten all about it and crazily think its a good idea to have another! I now know why there is nearly six years between me and my sister though. Lol.
I honestly thought it was going to be all lovely and I'd be glowing and so happy at growing my little princess but NO I feel like crap, look like crap and can't wait for it all to be over haha. X

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and with regards to your sore hips can I just say one word? Chiropractor. Book yourself in with one, you may have to pay but boy is it worth it. For the first time in weeks I can sleep pain free Grin

Frecklesandspecs · 23/10/2013 20:04

I can so sympathise! I had piles before I got preggo with dc1. I'm now due with dc3! major piles AND a swollen you know what plus a varicous vein in my bits!!! I refuse to look down there - it must be shocking! ;-) x

Artesia · 23/10/2013 20:13

Thanks TheBreast- got an appointment on Friday morning and can't wait!

Freckles have you found anything that helps?? Am surviving on a combo of paracetamol and germaloids, which takes the edge off a bit, but by no means comfortable

I can't help with the piles Artesia but the chiro really helped with my pgp and other aches and pains. I'd never been to one before and was a bit sceptical as well as a bit innocent in that I literally had no idea what it would entail, lol! It was a bit of a shock to find myself being pulled, yanked, squashed and cracked but it wasn't painful just a bit strange and you've got to just relax and put your trust in them that they're not going to snap a limb or a neck. Just wanted to warn you, in case you've never been before!

Sammi1986 · 23/10/2013 23:49

Eeeeeeep only 14 weeks.... Not looking forward to the future!! Hope you ladies feel better soon xx

It is definitely worth getting your hip pain checked out by your midwife/consultant and asking for some physio. You might find that a special pregnancy support belt that lifts up the belly takes the pressure off a bit and helps with the pain on walking. Sometimes they will induce you early by a couple of weeks if the pain is unbearable

Artesia · 24/10/2013 09:55

An update- after another night in real pain (ended up getting up at 4am, and my fabulous DP got up to keep me company and watch The West Wing with me!), i saw the doctor this morning, who bravely had a look at my haemorrhoids. He was suitably impressed, and said " good grief, I can see why you are in a lot of pain".

Apparently they are thrombosed haemorrhoids, and he has given me some super-strength cream and suppositories to deal with them, much to my relief (I hope!). If you are suffering, I would definitely recommend seeing the doctor.

Thanks for the heads up re chiropractor TheBreast. Have seen on before, but not sure I will ever get used to the cracking- it is just odd!!

Hi, if anyone doesn't fancy being pulled and yanked around by a chiropractor, try cranial osteopathy - it's very gentle but effectively a similar treatment. Also the maternity physio can fit you with a support belt that holds all the loose pelvic joints in place. Both worked wonders for me.
As for piles, ask your GP for a suppository prescription. And do pelvic floor exercises. I didn't first time round, had horrendous piles and urine incontinence towards the end. I'm now 35 weeks with DC2 and touch wood, everything is so far 'holding up' down below!
