Fell over...

I'm 31 weeks and I didn't quite make it to the bathroom during a vomit session (HG). I was barefoot and slipped in the vomit landing hard on my back...I think I have bruised my tailbone.

I couldn't get up for a good 10 minutes after I fell (I was alone in the house)

This happened last night and I can walk about now but it still hurts to sit/stand and roll over while lying down.

I can't get hold of my midwife and don't fancy a&e - will I be ok?

Ouch ouch ouch!! Poor you! Thanks

Don't know what advice to give other than try Midwife again to reassure you if nothing else, or your GP or small hospital rather than A&E?

feel better soon xxxx

Have you felt baby moving about ok??

Xenadog · 22/10/2013 12:16

I would ring the gp or maternity unit just to ask for expert advice. I would not want to not check this out just in case.

SeraphinaSparklePants · 22/10/2013 12:22

Have you felt the baby move since?
I fell down the stairs, landing on my bump, at about 27 weeks with DS2.
Rang my midwife and she told me to check for movement, and to go to hospital if none in 2 hours.
All was well, but if you're in any doubt, go to hospital.

Think you should call the delivery suite rather than a&e

I had a nasty fall at 23 weeks with dd, i slipped on a patch of polish on laminate flooring and my feet literally flew away so i landed full force on my left side. I cracked a rib which was agony for few weeks, and baby didnt move afterward for an hour or so so i went to a&e, at which time she started acrobats of course!
But apart from me being in a bad way my dd was thankfully fine and perfectly healthy when she arrived.

Point being that the bubs are pretty well protected in there and shold be ok. If you in the otherhand start to suffer id go a&e or docs for asessment, or as you say call delivery suite and see what they say.

I fell down a flight of stairs at 34 weeks. After telling me off for only wearing socks inside while heavily pregnant (who knew!) my MW said as long as there was no change in baby's movement to not worry.

As it was I ended up in A&E with a broken foot. They said the same thing about baby.

BumpAndGrind · 22/10/2013 13:47

Baby has moved fine since... just a bit sore on the arse.

Hi I fell down the stairs at 37 weeks I went in to be monitored as I thought my waters had gone (turned out I just wet myself) they weren't that concerned about the fall more so about babys movement.

Is baby baby moving ok? I would just call the maternity assessment unit and see what they say.
Bruised tailbone is awful its taken just over 2 weeks for sitting down to be comfortable again.

BumpAndGrind · 22/10/2013 17:42

I rang the midwife and said the same as you lot pretty much... can always rely on mumsnet for a speedy answer Grin

She said as long as the baby is moving and there is no blood loss not to worry.
