I'm nearly 39 weeks & know teh bbay stil lahsn't settled into the head down position. However it just seems to be permanently moving & squrimning about. I'm not doing too much in this hot weather so don't know if its realted to lying around but it never seesm to be still. last night in front of teh tv it was going for nearly 2 hours! I'mglda its moving rather thannot moving but am beginning to find it a littel disconcerting as well as a littel uncomfortable.
anyone else expereinced this or should i just shut up?!

mine was like that till i gave birth and the midwife could never keep up with her

hunkermunker · 03/07/2006 09:32

Yes, DS1 was a wriggler and DS2 moved so much I used to feel seasick regularly throughout the day.

Big strong babies both of them

biglips · 03/07/2006 09:32

but its better the baby moving than not moving

usandbump · 03/07/2006 09:39

I'm so with you on this!!

I am due today and my baby hasn't begun to engage either. The evenings are the worse he really doesn't stop, my tummy looks very odd as it contorts into all different shapes. I thought movements would have slowed down by now but he is more active than ever. I do find it very uncomfortable and don't enjoy it anymore especially as it continues well into the night meaning I don't sleep.
Have m/w tomorrow and I just know she is going to find it annoyingly funny again that "he STILL isn't engaging is he?" if anyone else tells me I haven't dropped or he's still very high isn't he i think I may have to resort to violence

Do you know I was lying in bed last night wondering this very thing.

I seem to have bionic babe at the moment!

My DD was like this - she would literally roll her bum from one side to the other, even after her head had started to drop down at 36 weeks. MOST uncomfortable.

DS didnt move anywhere near as much. However, he more than makes up for it now - even strangers comment about him being "constantly on the go".

Biglips, have visions of your newborn crowning then doing a mad dash across the delivery room, glancing back at the midwife grinning

thanks for al teh reassurrances. Have just discovered dancing round teh living room to my favourite disco CD has calmed things downa bit so maybe thats how I need to psend teh next week. Nice to kow I@m not alone - & won't be th only resorting to violence if anyone says as well as ' oh isn't it engeged yet' ' oh you're not veru=y big are you'

Oh yes - this sounds so familiar... ds was just the same and did the bum twisty thing too when he was 2/5ths engaged - kept dis-engaging too!

Squirmy little toot! (hate to say I didn't go into labour until 42 weeks) >
