5 weeks and zero symptoms - is this normal? (IVF pregnancy after MC)

HI all.
I'm five weeks pregnant and have absolutely no pregnancy symptoms. I was pregnant twice before (both ended in miscarriage) and both times had enlarged, tender breasts from a few days before taking the pregnancy test. This time they are tiny, no more sensitive than normal and I have no other pregnancy symptoms.
Is it normal? Can the symptoms be so different in different pregnancies?
I'm really scared that lack of symptoms means low level of pregnancy hormone and that I'm going to lose this baby as well (it's an IVF pregnancy).

I had no symptoms until 6-8 weeks. Every pregnancy is different. 5 weeks is still early for symptoms.

Yes it can be normal and yes symptoms can be completely different with different pregnancies. It's very frustrating but there is just no way of knowing until you can have a scan. I hope this is the one :) xx

Just wait! At five weeks. I thought I might escape the sickness that gripped me for a lot of my first pregnancy. 6.5 weeks in and it hit with a vengeance! 5 weeks is very early days.

Are you on any drugs still as sometimes they can mask any symptoms

Good luck take 1 day at a time & it will be worth it in the end x

Thank you ladies! I know it's very early but thought that I'd at least get sore boobs as I did before...
I'm taking progesterone pessaries, blood thinning drugs and steroids. And have just got out of hospital after a severs OHSS (ovarian hyperstymulation)
It's all so nerve wracking. I wish I could go to sleep and wake up in second trimester.
Thank you for your reassurance.

Hi- just to echo what the others have said regarding la k of symptoms and if you are interested, come over to the Pregnancy IVF Worriers thread. Almost all of us are pg after IVF and TTC for a long time and really understand how particularly stressful being pregnant can be after that.

Hope it all goes well regardless.

ceara · 17/10/2013 21:33

Also to echo what others have said - most people don't really get symptoms until 7-8 weeks along and some of us don't get any first trimester symptoms at all to speak of (I didn't, ). And every pregnancy is different. But I know that doesn't make the time between the post IVF pregnancy test and the 7 week scan any easier. Distraction is your friend through these weeks, though easier said than done. And plenty of hands to hold on here who understand something of what you're going through. Fingers crossed for good news at your scan.

Thank you so much for your lovely words! It's helpful to just know that there are people who understand how difficult this is.
Fairypangolin-thank you for the invitation!

I was 5 weeks when I found out and had no symptoms either, it wasn't until about 6 weeks that I got HUNGRY and if I didn't eat I felt sick! Apart from that, no morning sickness or any other symptoms until a few weeks later when the first trimester tiredness kicked in!
Congratulations on your pregnancy Smile

Hi OP

I had zero symptoms until 6 weeks when everything crashed it at once - nausea, sore boobs, hormonal moodiness etc.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Smile xx

LittleMachine · 18/10/2013 08:51

I didn't get sore boobs until 14 weeks this time, whereas it was one of my first symptoms in my first two pregnancies. I didn't have anything apart from the thirst and fast growing nails until just over 6 weeks this time, then I got very sick.
I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.
