I want some big, fat, comfy Bridget Jones knickers!

I've been sticking to wearing my normal pants throughout pregnancy then they started digging into bump so I went to primark and bought a pack of some in a bigger size and was comfy but they literally fell apart, all the stitching came unravelled etc and so I've gone back to my old pants. Can anyone suggest some comfy pants from another store, not expensive as I only have under 3 weeks til due date and then will wear them for comfort after birth with heavy bleeding etc but don't want to spend loads as they're not gonna be used for ages. I was thinking maybe Asda or Matalan but just wondered if anyone has any recommendations??

Tesco do these really cheap soft pants. I bought then to stop the VPL (which is what they were sold as) but they are sooooo comfy and won't break the bank x

Matalan! They're proper belly-button hugging, apple catcher, floral granny pants. Obviously worn in a smirky, postmodern ironic way, okay? :o

After I had DD by EMCS the MW who did my home visit said my pants were too low cut and immediately packed DH off to the shops to get me "the most giant cotton pants you can find".

He came back with two five packs of Matalan granny pants, £5 a pack so definitely a bargain.

The trick though is to remember they're only temporary, they're so comfortable it's tempting to Bridget Jones it forever more :)

Thank u ladies, oh I know they're not gonna be the height of fashion but comfort far outweighs that at this stage and I was half dead after traumatic labour last time that I just want to be as comfortable as possible. I will check out both, thank u

Fraggle, he swears the woman in Matalan thought they were for him as he decided to buy two sizes bigger than my size (so they'd be roomy) which meant he was buying roughly his size :o

He got me two sizes bigger and they were fine until around 3-4wks after when I started losing weight (although more likely fluid and bloat than actual weight!) then they were too big. I'd say one size bigger as they're stretchy anyway.

Tesco do great Big Knickers too - £4 for 5 pairs. I bought a few sizes bigger and they were fine post ELCS as well.

The most amazing ones I found were m and s 3 for £10 at the time. Shorts style high rise floral bandeau ones. They had a lace floral bit at the top that were really stretchy but also joined onto the rest of the knicker really nicely without that evil digging in seam. They were truly amazing and also fantastic for holding the giant maternity pads in place without harassing my c section scar. Not the cheapest but so worth it!

I agree with fraggle, the "seamless" pants at tesco, although I get the shorts rather than traditional knickers. I love them!

Tesco microfibre seamfree shorts in a size or 2 bigger than your usual are the best comfy granny pants in my opinion. I got a load of the XL ones after my c section. They come up really high and are sooo comfy. They are £5 a pair but I'll be wearing these for a while so well worth it. The cheap ones I would end up chucking out after one wear so are a false economy.

I love a big knicker me. I would recommend Sainsbury's full briefs. Pack of 5 for £8 I think. Wash well.

I got mine from b&m would u believe!! They are proper granny knickers but after my c section I'm sure I will love them. Lol.
My DH asked me why I had bought my gran knickers for Xmas when I brought them in as I had been Xmas shopping at same time lol. X

I've gone the opposite way now I've got a bump. I find small bikini pants that sit underneath are more comfy.

Thank u everyone, think I'll be going knicker shopping tomorrow while son is at pre-school!

SaucyJack I was fine with my little ones for a long while but they just dig in soo much now and its quite sore and painful by the end of the day and with me now being officially a waddling weeble I just wanna be comfy lol

I got a couple of cheap multipacks from tesco. They were so comfy that I kept wearing them for months after the birth They were still in perfect condition too so the quality must be good.
