clothes for hospital

I am starting to think about packing my hospital bag and not sure what to pack to labour in/ for any potential hospital stay after. This is DC2 - with DC1 I laboured in a massive primark nightie, but it wasn't very good for skin to skin after. Am struggling to find anything that's longer than a t shirt that will allow easy boob access. What are you all buying/ planning to pack?

I wear a big standard nighty one that I'm happy to throw away after tbh when I get to the wanting to push stage I take it off anyway as for some reason I can't tolerate the feel of clothes on me at that time

I think I laboured in an old t shirt of DPs (my memory is quite fuzzy regarding specifics). It might have been a superman one. This time I think I'm going to take another 1 or 2 of his old t shirts.

Then a few cosy but cheap pyjamas for the postnatal ward. Primarks or dunnes whilst they're on sale for Christmas. And a cheap multipack of larger than normal knickers. I also want to take flipflops for the shower this time.

Oh and a dressing gown. I forgot to last time and was walking off contractions in a t shirt and DPs long coat to protect the remnants of my dignity.

I just wore an oversized t shirt to give birth in then afterwards I put on one of dh's shirts for easy boob access. Once on the ward and my catheter was out the next day I wore black jogging bottoms and a vest top. Wards are hot!

I got a strappy breastfeeding nightie from mothercare, easy to unclip for skin to skin, but meant I wasn't too warm. It came in a pack of 2 so I had one for labour and one for on the ward after my shower.

I had a knee length shirt nightie from tescos, a couple of sizes to big. It unbuttoned all the way down. I found it perfect for keeping me cool and for skin to skin.

Big ginormous, shin-length, Victorian-style, very lightweight cotton nightie, the kind Elizabeth Bennet prob wore to sleep in. Buttons down (smocked front) to bellybutton, could have fit 2 pregnant ladies in there. Don't know where is came from as i got if from SIL. It didn't get too gross and washed well, so still got it for this labour. V dignified, even hoiked up over bump, as it is such thin material it doesn't feel bulky. i love it! On the ward, cheap pjs and dressing gown and slippers, and tracksuit bottoms and vest tops for the daytime. Also take all your past-it old knickers in, and then just bin them instead of bringing them home and treat yourself to new knix for later. ooh exciting, like packing for a holiday!! must get on top of my packing too!

I had a wrap nightie that was fab for skin to skin. I had a C section so couldn't wear pj bottoms to start with due to catheter. This is the one I got but it is NOT worth £49!! If I can find one cheaper I'd get it again though.
