Hope i've posted in this right category.

Had an emergency c-section with my DS 7 months ago and am PG again, according to home PG test. Yikes!
I had a very sick PG with DS am hoping that i'll survive this PG with the help of parents, IL's, friends etc. Please, please, any stories of:

a) Getting pregnant under a year of having a c-sec, what kind of birth you had, did you choose an elective etc..
b) Real life experience of having a little baby to look after and being PG.

I'm sure it's all going to be okay [fingers crossed]

Hello! I dont really strictly fit into your categories, but i thought I would reply! I have a fifteen month old and am four months pg with no.2.
I was really really sick first time round like you but this time, although the sicky feeling started almost the week i conceived ( i think anyway!) it hasnt esculated to in bed all day sickness from first time round. I have found that most days although ive felt sick ive managed to control it with ginger tablets and eating almost constantly! I think having a little one has almost helped to keep my mind diverted from it actually....saying that ive been sick all day today but that isnt the norm this time!
I had an emergency c section last time too, and i think i will try for a vbac this time, because i found recovery from the cs really hard last time. Heres hoping your sickness doesnt get too bad and that you have a good birth! xxx

chacha congrates...not had a cs so no help there I am afraid but do have a 2.8yr old and a 6mth old and am 12wks pg. To be honest this pregnancy has been easier in the sense that I just have not had time to feel sick or wallow in self pity of pregnancy. However I have felt a lot more exhausted but then my DD doesnt sleep through due to breathing probs so I can be up with here 4 times plus a night.

DS turned 1 in June, I am nearly 6 months pg - so very similar gap to what you will have. I didn't have CS so can't comment on that. A pro of this age gap during pregnancy is that I would imagine that your ds will still be having a couple of naps per day - during the really tired phase of the first few months I would nap during his afternoon nap.

my dd is a year and I'm 9 months pregnant and although I haven't actually been sick like I was with dd I feel sick all day..Like others have said it's helped having dd as she's taken my mind off it a bit and also she still naps (sometimes) am and pm so I get chance to get back to bed.

Only downside I would say is the fact that because I feel so sick I am irritated easily and sometimes don't have as much patience with dd as I would like . But I tell her mummy is not well and try and give her extra love and attention when I feel less sick.

BTW I do worry if I get sicker about how I will cope and also when i'm further on how will I still do things with her.

No experience of a cs..sorry.

Congrats on your pregnancy!!

I have much biggar gap between my 2 ds's(3 and 8 months now) 27 months between but can sympathise about how much more difficult your 2nd pregnancy is. First time around its all about you. Second time around everyone is concerned about how its all going to affect no1. You are just expected to get on with it.
I had terrible morning noon and nite sickness that lasted 4 months each time and remember feeding ds1 his meals with a clothes peg on my nose as smells made me vomit.
Also spent a large proportion of time in bathroom sitting on toilet vomiting into a bowl while peeing.(Violent sickness made me loose bladder control - yuck who'd want to be preggers!!!!)
It is all a bit exhausting and I got through it by bullying everyone into helping me as you do get forgotton a bit second time around. Dont be afraid to ask for help of friends and family. Mine were fantastic especially my husband who would come in from a 12hr shift and clear up the house because I could hardly step foot into the kitchen because all the smells - food/cleaning products/bin etc made me vomit so much. He was an absolute honey!

CHACHA .....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am expecting baby no2 anyday and DS is 16 months old. I had an emergency c section last time and the consultant said that I would be fine to go for a normal delivery this time but they said I could have an elective c section if I wanted one - it was totally my choice. If I go over my due date and need to be induced the consultant will only give me one dose of whatever it is as anymore can 'sometimes' contribute to the uterus/stitches ruptureing! BUT this is different practise from Dr to Dr!!
Luckily for me I have not had any sickness with this pregnancy so have felt fine and able to carry on with DS as normal - although the last week or so I have found it difficult with it being hot and having to carry him and bump around - nearly 30lb more than normal!!!! I am sure you will be fine and you just seem to get used to it - no2 will be here before you know it!!

I got pg with ds2 when ds1 was 8 months old and had a much easier second pregnancy - I was tired but napped along with ds1! Now they are 2.11 and 18 months and it is great! They go to bed at the same time, eat the same food and can play together well (most of the time!) I don't have experience of CS but sure all will be fine! Best wishes and congratulations!

no experiance of cs but i'm 34 weeks pregnant with a 17 month old dd. the exhaustion hits you alot harder but i found i wasn't nearly as sick and when i was i didn't have time to dwell on it as much. the most important thing i found was having a routine for dd, especially regarding bedtime as it means no matter how bad it gets i know i only have to make it til 7.30 before i can sit down and rest.

adopt a half assed approach to cleaning as well as trying to keep fully on top of the housework with a young child and a bump will give you a nervous breakdow!

congratulations

My sister had her DD and 11mths later had twins!!! She was pg with twins when DD was 3mths and had a c-section as she was extended breech. With the twins she had a c-section too.
Her DD had lots of probs, milk intolorant, clicky hips and a harness etc and she screamed all the time!!! She was enough to put anyone off for life! Also her DP was horrid (they split up not long after twins were born)

She has been a miracle mother tho, and I am so proud how her children are so beautiful, well behaved and how well she copes.

some how tho you do cope becasue its for your babies! You will be ok and manage, oh and CONGRATS!!!
