Maternity Belly Band

I'm 22 weeks pregnant with DC2. I had horrible SPD in my first pregnancy and I'm beginning with some pain and looseness in my hips.

Also when I walk to get DS from preschool I get weird feelings in my bump a bit painful like I need to hold my bump in.

Do I need to get a belly band or support belt or something? The bandage thing I got from the physio last time was rubbish.

The best one I've found is the Serola Sacroiliac Belt that you can get from Amazon x

Suggest you get yourself referred for physio, which should help.
I have found a bump support band helpful - it's kept the symptoms down to intermittent hip pain provided I'm careful what I do.
When I last looked I couldn't buy even a simple elastic bump band for under £11 and I'm sure the physio's bandage costs less than that for the whole roll, so I can hardly expect the NHS to supply the decent ones!

Thanks for the advice!

Hmm the bands that cover the bump (which I'd like because of feeling like i need to hold my bump in) seem to just be for covering up the bump so it looks like a T-shirt or something? Doesn't seem to offer support.

Is there a particular brand I should look at?

I had one from the NHS physio when I had SPD. It was in really thick, slightly stretchy stuff and needed to be velcroed into place.

I don't know if you can just buy ones like that (medical appliance suppliers?) and it's probably better to get a physio appointment and have it fitted. I wasn't allowed to take mine away until I had demonstrated I could put it on properly (positioning and firmness).

Some are indeed just cover-ups and some give support.

An example of light elastic support
and this appears to be an adjustible type.

I have no view on brands, I don't have much hip pain (now 34 weeks) so the light ones do the job from me. I have two from different places and can't tell the difference to be honest.

Sounds like you're just after some light support? I had a couple from Asos which were primarily for coverage but were supportive elastic. They held my trousers up and held my tummy in! Alternatively, it's pretty cold now so can I recommend H&M maternity tights? They were fantastic at keeping my bump up!
